KeltyJourney Perfectfit Child Carrier

I had no idea if this would work for my very old donated backpack that we use, but I ordered it anyway and to my surprise it worked! It doesn't seem perfectly stretched but appears that it will do the job I need it to as there is no way for me to keep my 9month old from taking his hat off. For those who are interested, it is set up with 2 straight rods on either side in the back and 2 toggle bars that fit through loops in the front.

Amazon has an epic fail on this one. The sunshade gray is not a color of this carrier. It is ONLY the sunshade. Do Not order this item thinking you get the carrier in a gray color even though the item description indicates you are ordering the carrier. Amazon needs to remove the sunshade gray option from this item.

This review is for the sunshade, and is NOT for the actual backpack child carrier. The shade has two poles that slide into sleeves while the other corners are attached through loops on the backpack. It works fine and is tall enough to cover your kid. However, at $35, it's incredibly overpriced, does not easily fold into any pockets for transportation/storage, and I do worry about how well it secures to the backpack long-term.

I pretty much never leave reviews. Good or bad. Well I read the negative reviews on this and figured I could make it work because my babe needed shade. It really is just a bad design. It’s the only Kelty shade I can find and this is the 2.0 pack so maybe that’s the difference?? The front pieces don’t get tight and they flip out of the loop. The back pole just slides into the slot. It’s completely unstable and awkward. Friends have a Deuter so I tried their shade cover hoping it would be better but it’s too wide to cross over to Kelty.I love the Kelty backpack. Tons of adjustments. But the shade is seriously lacking. I’m giving it 2 stars instead of one because it DOES provide shade as long as pieces aren’t falling out.

We purchased this to use with an older model Kelty carrier that we purchased on the marketplace for $35. The screen fits and is easy to install. It does a good job as a shade and is definitely necessary for sunny summer walks. It is absolutely absurd that it is $40 though. This should be closer to a $20 price point. That is my only reason for knocking down 2 stars.
