While I almost sent these knives back, I am glad I didn't!! When I 1st opened the box and felt the knives, I said to myself "Wow, they are much lighter than the old set of knives I was used to". But after trying them, I realized that they were in fact FAR better than my old set of knives and I now use them daily - their sharpness is amazing. I am so glad I gave them a chance.

It is a great knife set for a first timer to own. I cook quite a bit and it is helpful to have a set of knives that can get the job done. I like the steak knives as well. They will come in handy when we have guests for dinner.

My son loved these.. my son calls to tell me, wow mother. These are like your knives. Of course they are. Haha:D this family loves German steel. Everything came perfectly in its place. No problems with shipping. He said the set is lovely. And he's learning to keep his fingers back. Oh my. Fingers crossed he doesn't cut himself. But sometimes the hard way is the only way we learn. Fingers uncrossed and tucked.Sorry I do not have a picture.. but he said everything came perfect. No scratches no dents no boo boos nothing. I saw a few complaints. No complaints here! This set of knives just arrived and of course, brand new knives look so good. Upon closer inspection I noticed that these knives are not as heavy as the ones they are replacing (not Henckels) and the metal blades actually flex a little when torqued. I am not too thrilled with the scissors either. They also seem flimsy and don't seat all that well in their slot in the block. However, the packaging was the best I have seen in a long time. Box within a box and everything protected and wrapped separately. The wood block is heavy and beautiful. These knives were a good price and I have used Henckels before. I am sure they will do the trick and if I had wanted more heavy duty knives I would have forked over more money for a set.Edit: I am returning these knives. The thin, flexing blades just are not going to work for me. And the scissors are just too flimsy. I honestly expected better from this company.

Excellent product at the price point. You get a bread knife or fruit, 8 in chef 4 in paring kitchen so all the basic stuff covered. Kitchen steel. It's german steel and they make good stuff. Usually this is around 100 usd and worth it

Beware of manufacturing defect! The set of knives I received is dangerously defective. There are thin, invisible metal ridges on the TOP of at least two different knife blades. If you use your finger to add pressure to the top of the blade when cutting something, you will get a cut resembling a paper cut on your finger, likely your index finger. This happened to me once, and I filed the spur / ridge off the top of the blade after it drew blood. Then it happened to me again with another knife in the set. It seems that the knives are not being properly finished somehow, leaving a sharp thin ridge on the top that will penetrate the skin of your fingers. Seems like a major defect to me. Unfortunately, I did not discover this until more than a month after ordering the set or I would definitely have returned.

We received a set as a gift many years ago. Tried to replace with this new set, but the quality is not even close. I'm not an expert on cutlery, but I know quality when I see it. This feels cheap. Looks like stamped steel. The knives don't cut straight. Very light compared to our original set... Sorry that I gave them my money.
