Q: Will this potty box hurt my pet's feet?

Absolutely not! It is plastic and adding litter to it doesn’t hurt their feet at all. My rabbit simply loves her liter box.

Q: Should I put some litter in the pet toilet?

Yes, but just enough to cover the bottom or enough according to how much your pet uses it & how often you clean it (it's very small) The grating top comes off very easily if they want to get it off. My small bunnie takes it off all the time, but the box somehow got her to stop digging everything out. I use wood stove pellets.

Q: Does poop fall off the grid, does it get a lot of it on the grid mat?

Poop does not build up nor fall off the grid however urine stains do build up

Q: Is there any way to order replacement grids? Ours got very stained over time and I'd like to swap them out for new ones

I have looked far and wide and I havent found any. What I saw online was using some baking drying racks attached to the litter box.
