I have never used it for aeropress but I think it'll work the cup mouth is wide. Hope this helps.

Q: How is the finger-hole on these? Can you hold then easily and comfortable, or is the handle just there for show?

Yes, I can hold them very easily and put my entire index finger through the loop of the handle. My index finger ring size is about a women’s 5 1/2 or 6. My husband is very tall, and his wedding ring is a men’s 10 1/2. He cannot put his index finger through the loop of the handle on these cups. He sort of has to pinch it between his thumb and index finger to hold the cup. Even still, if you are making a small amount of espresso, you will not be filling the cup entirely, so you could always hold the top where it’s cooler. He does that, too!
