Q: What country manufactures this item; where is it made?

They are made here in the USA. But they don’t handle constant use. We got them to use in our horse barn to fill water buckets, every one of them failed within 2 months of purchase. Not recommended for medium or heavy use.

Q: My old one had a big opening so no high pressure distance spray, what can be done for full flow&no powerful stream?

This product is made to control the flow of water from a garden hose. There is no way to use this for full flow from your garden hose.

Q: Has anyone had one stop working and shoot a long brass tube out of the end? Mine did and this could definitely be a hazard if someone was in front of

I’ve not had that happen but have had them break. I go through at least 3 a year in our barn and always get the extended warranty because they are so prone to break.

Q: If we cut the tip back will it give us a wider opening so it comes out full flow without such distance?

Not sure, but would be easy enough to cut it small increments to find out :) good luck
