For the price point, this is an excellent choice. Very easy to set up and easy instructions that make sense. The planks are not real wood, but MDF (medium-density fibreboard) a veneer that looks like wood. It's pretty obvious close up on the edges, but it's not so bad. The embossed grain on the veneers looks great. Again, this reduces the overall price and since I have a lot of stuff on the shelves, you can't see much of the "wood". I like how the shelves are deep. Just don't get MDF wet! The structure/frame is solid. This can hold a lot of weight. The legs have adjustable feet if you have uneven floors and the back of the shelf is reinforced with braces (that make an "x"). Mine is used for books so if you need to put about 100+ books on it, it can handle it and look nice. It won't look great, but for books there is enough room for two rows, but I just have other decorative things in front of the books. Love this thing.

This is a very solid, nice looking 3-shelf bookshelf. Looks quality made. The instructions for assembly were very clear and detailed. I did put one of the side legs on with the hole facing in instead of out to attach the cross bars in the back and had to redo.

Beautiful shelf and easy to put together. Put it together myself in about 25 minutes. Great quality and looks classy. Stable and great quality for the price. I live near SW florida where the in a store this would be a few hundred dollars. Easy to clean and sturdy and easy to move if you need to. Perfect in our spare bedroom.

I’m using these shelves in a homeschool classroom so they need to be strong and nice looking as well. I can easily fill each shelf with 3-ring binders with extra space above them. These shelves are a nice width and depth for school textbooks and bi Dre’s as well. There’s a few inches of floor space below the bottoms shelf so I can store crayon boxes or reams of paper. Thanks to the open back & sides I can plug in a printer without cords being unsightly in the room. After just a couple days the shelves appear to be as durable as advertised. There is a metal bar under each the width of each shelf so I’m hopeful that I can keep them mostly loaded long term without warping or bowing in the middle. The distributor shipped them in a timely manner & everything arrived in good condition. Shelves were easy to assemble & did not require additional special tools.-great project to let kid helpers participate with assembly.

The good: I was very impressed with how well built this shelving unit is. Square tube metal framing. Good quality machined bolts. I bought the 4-tier unit based on specific dimensions. I planned to use this as an entertainment center for a bedroom. And it fit perfectly in the space I needed. The metal frame is heavy -- each shelf has a support bar under it. Top shelf is very beefy and will support a medium sized (30-40" class) flat screen TV. It comes with nice wall brackets for safety (anti-tip) but this means you need to drill holes in your walls and use the included screws and anchors. The brackets are deep enough to work on walls with thicker baseboards. I have the weight distributed on mine... and that makes it unnecessary to use the wall brackets. It's super stable with the feet adjusted properly. But if you have unsupervised young children (yikes!) who like to climb, or it's top heavy, use the brackets. The feet have adjustable height (similar to an appliance) to ensure the shelf sits level on a variety of floors. The decorative skirts hide this. Very nice feature. The feet also have a plastic bottom to help prevent marring wood floors. But also sits nice on carpet. To adjust, you raise the skirt and turn the foot with a wrench (or your fingers if someone can lift the corner for you). Once received and opened, it arrived in good shape. Lots of screws and small pieces are included so don't have small kids around during assembly. The parts are neatly organized into pouches with letters on them. I am mechanically inclined. I separated all of the small parts into piles with their letters. Do not mix them up! I followed the instructions perfectly and took my time. Do not hurry on this. The pictures are clear, calling out each part by letter. A few extra parts are provided in case you lose one (or more likely, one is forgotten during manufacturing). This is a nice touch. The bad: It took a long time for me to receive it. The first unit shipped was returned to Amazon with no explanation for a refund. So I had to reorder it. I got lucky because it went on sale by the time of the re-order. This was mildly frustrating because I was waiting on this unit to complete another project. But the sale price benefit took the edge off. My guess is the first got damaged or destroyed somehow. The packaging is pretty dense without much protection. A good drop from a truck would total it. Top shelf is 16" deep. The rest of the shelves are only 12" deep. I wished all shelves were the same 16" depth. That would have worked better with the stereo receiver I have on the second shelf. But I made it work. The wood is very fake. I'm not sure what material it is. Maybe some sort of manufactured pressed material. Fiberglass? Plastic? Foam cellular board? Very light weight. The metal cross bar under each shelf offers the structural support. The wood grain looks real enough and has a texture. There is also a clearcoat that was peeling off of mine. In fact, it gave me splinters during assembly. Almost like fiberglass. Multiple rigorous wipes with a soapy rag tamed this down. A few bits could be peeled off in strips. Yuck. But since this emulates rough sawn wood, I don't see any visual impact from this flaw. And once set up, it's no big deal. It's not like you continue to handle it. And it hasn't degraded further so far (been 2 months). Summary: This shelving unit is a hidden gem. For the price you pay, you get a nice, heavy metal furniture quality unit. I'm reducing one star for the quality of the fake wood shelves themselves... and the shipping issues. If the shelves were real wood and no paint peeling, this would be treasure.

This is a well-built shelf. My network and electrical wires where all over the place. This fit the bill perfectly! The build was easy and straight with one person. I think that I got it assembled in about 30 minutes or so.

Easy to assemble and it’s pretty sturdy.
