Works well as expected but had to replace a failed switch
I was able to add this new switch to my existing Third Reality hub using the Third Reality app very easily. Then Alexa was able to discover it right away and it works fine. I have 4 of the older Third Reality switches and 2 of those work only intermittently now, I have to remove the batteries then press the on/off button several times then put the batteries back in to get them to work again. I just purchased 2 more of these new switches to replace those intermittent old ones. Hopefully these new switches will work even better and longer than the old ones. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of any installation instructions, it is fairly obvious but instructions should be included. You can probably find some instructions online if necessary. I'll update this review if I have problems with these new switches in the future.UPDATE 1/11/2023: I bought 2 more of these Gen3 switches since the first one worked so well. Trivial to add to my Third Reality hub using the app, then Alexa discovered them right away. So all 3 new Gen3 switches are working fine. Installation is also very easy, there is a diagram on the back of the box, but a half page of instructions would be better. Note that each switch comes with 3 mounting rings (one is a spare) and 3 sets of spacers in case you need them. I guess the only question now is reliability, I expect them to last at least a year and hopefully two or more years. Time will tell, I'll update this review again if I have any problems.UPDATE: 1/15/2023: Well unfortunately it didn't take long for 1 of my 3 switches to break. The motor just quit working. The electronics were fine, the blue light would flash and the app would change on/off state, but the motor would not run. I see other reviews that mention the same problem. I tried removing the batteries and holding the button down for a long time in various ways, but never got the motor to run again. The motor in the failed switch always sounded different than my other 2 identical switches. So I did a return with replacement and just received that replacement switch today. I paired it and installed it and it is working just fine (like the broken one did at first). Amazon does make returns very easy so that's good. I'll assume for now that I just happened to get a defective switch and hope that all 3 of my new switches will continue to work. But this failure does not bode well for reliability. So I've reduced my rating from 5 to 4 stars. Time will tell, and I'll update this review yet again if I have any further problems.

Actuator Motor Would NOT Move, Got it Working. Stopped Working Again
4th Update: 2/1/2023:I received my replacement unit and it worked right away after putting batteries in it, unlike my first one where the actuator motor would not move (see below). It also connected to my Echo Studio on the first try after asking Alexa to discover new devices. I’m updating my star rating from 2 to 5 (actually 4.5 due to initial issue) stars.Thank you Third Reality for your excellent customer support!!3rd Update: 1/21/2023:I contacted Third Reality Support on 1/6/23 asking if they could replace my broken Smart Swtich and received a reply on 1/7/23 saying they would, which impressed me, but as of today, 1/21/23, I have not received the replacement yet. Updated my star rating from 1 to 2 starts for quick customer support reply, but not any higher until I receive a working replacing Smart Switch.2nd Update: 1/6/2023:This switch STOPPED working again, even after putting new batteries in it. Its blue light will blink when its button is pressed, so its electronics seem to be working, but its actuator motor no longer moves again, just like when I first got it. Very frustrating!Original Review around 12/5/2022:This Smart Switch connected to my Echo Studio very easily right after the batteries were installed and saying “discover my device,” which was nice, but after that, the actuator motor never made any noise and did NOT move up and down when the switch’s button was pressed.Next tried:- new batteries, even measuring voltage,- controlling switch by asking Alexa,- used Alexa iOS app’s Devices tab,- pressed physical button some more, but no actuator movement or motor sound.I could see that the Zigbee controller part is working since when I pressed the switch’s physical button, then the Alexa app showed the switch changing from ON to OFF to ON etc.Chatted with Amazon Help and was told to return it and order a new one — they would not replace this for me.Read 3Reality dot com’s Support pages and FAQ knowledge base, which gave me some ideas of other things to try, including:- hold switch’s button down for 20 sec (did not help)- remove batteries, hold button down for 5 sec, insert batteries while still holding button down, and keep holding button down until actuator moves (did not help after waiting 30 sec)- do previous step, but kept holding button down longer for 60 seconds and even longer (actuator still not working)Kept repeating the above when all all of a sudden the switch made some noise while I was trying to pair with my Echo again and the actuator moved! Yeah!So off to a rough start, but glad I can continue on with installing this device and testing it out some more. This review started off at 1-Star and is now at 3-Stars. I’ll update this to more stars if this device works as hoped.1st Update to Original Review after a week or so:Working as expected so far, so now at 4-Stars

Great option for tricky wiring installations
While most of my light switches have neutral at the box, my kitchen overhead light does not. As well, it's a fluorescent light so it doesn't work with any of the currently available "no neutral" Zigbee or Z-Wave switches. While I could have installed a relay in the light fixture, the light cover is getting old and every time I remove it I'm rolling the dice that it won't crack and be an expensive repair. This switch solves all of that by simply attaching to the wall toggle. It was only a few minutes to install and paired quickly with my zigbee2mqtt installation. So far there's been no issues with network drops. There are two flaws with the device:1. My wife much prefers the regular style of switch, like those made by Jasco / Enbrighten. In her words, this whole thing is an "ugly hack", and she's right! The additional latency of the motor flipping the switch is noticeable, as is the noise when it flips on or off.2. The device does not support Zigbee groups. This is a really useful feature for larger networks, allowing a single command to be broadcast instead of having to send it to every device individually. For example, I have "Kitchen" and "All Lights" groups. I contacted their support, who quickly responded and confirmed groups are not supported in the device firmware and that they will consider it for a future revision. To work around this I've created light groups in Home Assistant.Overall, this is great for one-off uses, but I wouldn't recommend outfitting a whole house with these.

So far so good
This device is awesome. It pairs directly with my Amazon Echo 4th Gen (Zigbee) and works very good. I 'm using this one to turn on/off my garage lights with a Amazon routine when a Ring door sensor is activated by opening the garage door. It works !.The only issue is that you don't have a clue on battery level.
