A great replacement for my old controller, that unfortunately was worn out. The haptic triggers and analog sticks had bad travel after a few years. But this new controller is so much better and I love the silver colour.

Love this controller. The Volcanic Red colour looks even better in person and really stands out. We now have a his and hers set, which is a nice touch. It feels great to use, with the solid build and responsiveness you expect from a DualSense. Comfortable for long gaming sessions and connects instantly with no issues. A great addition if you want something a bit different from the standard colours.

The PS5 DualSense controller is by far the best pad Sony has ever made for a PlayStation console. The DualSense motion stuff is debatably a bit of a novelty, and usage varies especially outside of first-party games, but it is pretty cool. The way it is used in AstroBot for example is really clever. This does make the controller feel more "special" than the Xbox controller. I chose the black colour to replace the standard white which came with the console, and strangely it does actually feel better to use. I cannot explain but the main plastic body feels like a slightly different finish which I found gives a better grip. I do have some small gripes with the PS5 controller. I find my thumbs tend to slip off the analogue sticks, and battery life could be better. Plus, when the battery does wear out you basically have to get a new pad, unless you're technically minded enough to take it apart and fix it. My personal preference in terms of overall game controllers is for the standard Xbox pad, mainly based on the offset analogue sticks. Granted some players do prefer the symmetrical sticks - each to their own. I find the Xbox pad more comfortable for long gaming sessions. These points being made however, the PS5 controller is still an excellent pad and well worthy of 5 stars.
