Q: Are there any shorter cords? i.e. 3ft?

I only have the 6 foot one. Only one left too.

Q: Is it work for personal computer?

Yes. It plugs into a USB port. It has some software that can be downloaded. It also works with some OEM Software packages. We used it to program RFID tags to our Schlage commercial door locks. They wanted twice the price as an optional purchase.

Q: Does this come with the software that it needs to program it and can it be programmed to work with a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet?

Kayla - the PcProx Plus RFID Reader "reads" an RFID enabled chip within a badge...I have used the Prox Plus for a decade to read badges associated with cashless solutions but never with an Excel spreadsheet. What would you want the behavior of the "Reader" to be when used with an Excel spreadsheet?
