Q: does the handle come apart if so how long is each rod ?

Yes the handle does screw apart in 3 different areas on the handle. Two metal rods are 11 inches each and the top rod with the plastic handle is 13 inches long after all three rods are screwed into the handle to complete it. Total length of the metal rods when all three rods are screwed in, total 3 feet long. You can shorten the handle by leaving one of the 11” rods out. Use only one 11” & one 13” rod to make the handle shorter. Use all 3 lengths to make the handle longer at 3 feet.

Q: How can the clean the bristles?

I totally LOVE this sweeper! In fact I have not used my vacuum cleaner for months! I used the comb that comes with it for the large roller and I have a small, sturdy hair comb I clean the little rollers with. I am not sure if I can remove them and wash them.

Q: Would this pickup dust and dirt frpm floors as well?

No, it's really made for a low pile thread type of rug. I use mine to get cat/dog fur up off the area rug.
