It does not come with a motherboard. Come to think of it.........I can’t think of any fans that come with a motherboard

Q: Is there any way to change the color of the fan, to let’s say purple, by only using the fan controller?

Yes you can find many purple presets by using just the controller.

Q: Can the fs-9002 white fans be used without a motherboard rgb header? that is, does the remote allow changing the color without using the motherboard?

Yes u can use the remote control to control fan speeds and color presets

Q: is there a blue to purple gradient only ?

yes they do but u have to plug into ur motherboard to get it
