Q: Are the labels easily removable?

So sorry, I haven't tried to remove them from the canisters I placed them on. But, I do feel that you could lift an edge with something thin and sharp, such as a knife and then slowly peeled them back they would come off cleanly and easily. But, definitely secure and flat on my canisters. Very nice labels.

Q: Can I use regular white chalk or does it need to be a chalk pen??

The package comes with a white liquid chalk marker that goes on easily, wipes off easily, and is super easy to use. I can't answer your question about using regular chalk on the labels because I don't have any chalk LOL. Once you use the marker that comes with them, you won't want to try anything else! Also, something that worked for me, I lightly sprayed the finished product with hairspray and let them dry before putting them on the cabinets & drawers because I didn't want anyone to wipe the words off.
