They really work! (Best with LONG hair)
These are a new favorite for my 12 and 4 year old dancers.... Perfect for a beautiful ballet bun. They definitely work best with very long hair. One of my girls has wavy long hair that's got some texture to it, and it only takes two or three of these to secure her bun.My other daughter has shoulder-length silky straight hair. Her hair is too short for a bun right now, and we struggled to make it look good until I figured this technique out: we start with a low ponytail, then wrapping a hair net around the ponytail. The hairnet holds the hair together into one chunk an he gives it a bit more length so I can twist it into a small bun, then I use a few of these twist bobby pins to secure it, and it works perfectly!I'm glad I got these brown/bronze twist pins instead of the lighter yellow coated pins for my blondies. The color actually matches their hair better.Seriously, these twist pins are so satisfying to use, and they stay put. Amazing!

Game changer
I love that there's 2 different sizes. If I put all of my hair up, I need the long one, half my hair up the short one is perfect. They hold all day without budging

So powerful, so tiny!
I have very long and thick hair. Like I usually have to buy extra large hair clips to handle it. I was blown away that just ONE of these little spin pins can hold all my hair securely (though I use two or three just for safety). And they're small and cheap enough to just stash them everywhere in case of hair emergency.More comfortable than a claw if you have to lean your head back on a car or plane. Easier to use than a french fork. Smaller and less breakable than either of them. One star removed because the brown paint came off, but realistically it's hidden by your hair anyway.

Black to silver
I love the product and purchased the black ones. I'm just not a fan of the choosing coming off!

Best for buns
I have 2 girls in dance, and these are the best bobby pins for buns. And bun makers! They are durable, have great color variety, and hold any type of hair. Long short, straight, or curly, they are great. The price on Amazon is pretty reasonable. I'll buy them again.

Some reason these were not as comfortable as the other ones I ordered so I sent these back.
I ordered because they had a bunch in the package but they hurt. I ended up returning and ordering the ones I had before. Less in the package…ok because you don’t need a lot..and much more comfortable.Quality > Quantity

Great for thicker or more hair (than the smaller diameter original brand)
I've been using the original spiral pins for many years, but wanted more since one bun can utilize 6-9 pins at a time. I was hesitant to buy a different brand because the originals have worked so well. Surprisingly, these from Amazon work even a bit better for my thick, coarser, wavy, & a lot of hair. Why? These are a bit wider in diameter than the original brand; the wider width accommodates my type of hair well. The original, slightly narrower ones work just fine, but these wider diameter ones grip a lot of hair better. Therefore, I can see why some reviewers don't like these. If one has finer, thinner, or not a ton of hair, the original brand may work better. I would recommend these for those who may have thicker or more hair. Now, I just use both these & the originals (mix & match) -- My bun doesn't move or loosen at all throughout the entire day when using these kinds of spiral pins.I read reviewers also state that they try not to cross the spiral pins, but I find that crossing - thereby locking - them can create a good, firm hold.Inevitably, the coating may scratch off a bit (as they have for my originals after 8+ yrs) but they're completely hidden in the hair and no one can see, and having the coating come off the originals hasn't caused any snagging of my hair. Let's hope these from Amazon stay snag-free as well!
