Yes, technically the holes are bigger than a fruit fly. It doesn't seem to matter. The flies refused to crawl through the holes anyways. I left half-peeled bananas in this thing as a test. Not one fruit fly on the inside when I checked it the next day.Size is decent, I fit two bunches of bananas and some tomatoes in it.Looks real nice. It is white, not silver, like some people seemed to expect. It felt lightweight, but not flimsy.2019 Update : Still like it. Ordering a second one.

Stylish and perfect way to keep bugs away.

This is a 100/10. I am satisfied with the material used to make this product. The size and color are perfect. I was also happy with the packaging and how well it was wrapped to protect it from damage. It is ideal for my bananas, and I still have room to add more fruits.

Looks good and functions very well. We recently moved into a place that had a mouse, some cockroaches, and had an issue with fruit flies.Ordered this to prevent anything from touching our fruit while we took care of our pest problems, gave us a huge peace of mind. Very happy.My only complaint is that I wish it were a little bit bigger. But it's sufficient, I can fit a few apples, oranges, and a bunch of bananas, and a few other smaller items.

Awesome!!! Works great. We have a farm and the fruit flies in hawaii are no joke. They can destroy any fruit on your counter. This fruit basket is big enough to hold our apple bananas, mangos, avocados, oranges, and lemons... just not all at once. It's a good size and has kept the flies from multiplying and destroying our fruit. Also, since I got the white one it blends into the counter instead of stands out.

I bought this even though many of the reviews indicated that it was not useful for fruit flies.The mesh size and general design is such that it should keep out fruit flies. However, due to the fact that the top does not fit evenly into the base, gaps are left around the center for fruit flies to enter. Unsure if this was a shipping issue (damage) or a manufacturing/quality control issue.I am keeping the top secured snuggly to the bottom by using an extremely large rubber band looped entirely around the basket and over the apple "stem". This works for an adult household - not so much for one with kids.

The Fruit Flies has wholly disappeared! Mission accomplished!Plus, the bowl looks pretty, and the fruit remains fresh without any outside disturbances!

Spring/ Summer time is when these buzzing critters come out, they can buzz all they want but this thing keeps them at bay. No Fruit For You

Me encanta este frutero, Deja ver las frutas para que se antoje comérselas pero al mismo tiempo están tapadas y protegidas.Tengo rato usándolo y no se ha oxidado o le haya pasado algo a la pintura. Las rendijas son muy pequeñas por lo cual no se meten insectos de tamaño promedio ni los ratones lo romperían tan fácilmente. Mosquitos pequeños tal vez si vuelen por ahi, pero no me ha tocado ver mosquitos en mi casa.Lo recomiendo. Me gustó.

The wire mesh coukd have been a bit more closely made. Otherwise its a good product, imported from. USA, but made in China. AMAZON is a bit cunning and a cheat. They publish one price , but you end up paying much higher. Not cost effective at all.The worse is the courier and shipping agent, ARAMEX, one if the worst I've ever dealt with . I got 27 mail, text message, had to provide address proof, photo ID and these little, cunning skunk tried their best to extract my AADHAR details, but failed miserably.
