Pleasantly surprised by this product!!!I usually read reviews and any videos pertaining to products prior to purchase. This clock ticked off many boxes for me:*Instruction manual easy to understand? Check! (I despise purchasing a product and the instructions are either vague, or non-existent. Easy to understand instructions manual=ease-of-use product!)*Actual clock/time not too bright? Check! (I don't appreciate a bright clock display! This one didn't wake me up or keep me up. In fact, the placement of the clock-face on the lower portion of the lamp is genius. The light is dim enough, it's not waking me up AND it's small enough, too, that I don't keep checking the time all night!)*Pleasant sounds to wake me? Check! (My phone alarms were all too annoying! While this clock may seem limited to some peoples tastes, I was pleased with the choices of sounds to wake up to.)*Light increments not annoying? Check! (I was pleasantly surprised by the gradual light leading up to the alarm sounding off. During summer months, I probably won't use this option, as I get up same time every day, and I'm currently awakened by birds and sunrise automatically. But as the days get shorter, the light and sound setting will do its job!)*Light bright enough to read by? Check! (Although, with my aging eyes, I need more light. If you're younger or have exceptional eyesight, this would be perfect to use if you share a bed or room with someone who doesn't want a bright light one while you stay up reading!)*Doesn't take up much space? Check! (It's the perfect size! For myself, this fits on a small shelf. If you're uncertain about space for yourself, check the measurements on this item first. If you don't have a ruler, you can probably find an app for your phone. FYI: I have a Samsung AG 13 phone, and this alarm/night light is the same height as my phone.)*Sturdy? Check! (By sturdy, I mean it's not just a thick plastic, but the bottom has non-skid strips to keep this item from sliding all over whatever surface you place it on! With regular alarm clocks, I'd reach for them to shut them off, and they'd slide out from under my grasp. Who hasn't pushed their alarm clock off the nightstand onto the floor? This clock/lamp product stays put so when I reach out, it's not going anywhere!)*Colorful lights? Check! (Whether you want to use a single color to light up your room, or allow the lamp to rotate through the various colors, everyone will be able to find their favorite. I checked out the brightness of each color in our biggest room: the living room. Each colored light is bright enough that you can move safely around your room. Great "night light" for a kids room. The top of lamp has a "touch" button to either change the colors, or shut it off, making this easy to use.With an imminent move in my future, I'm contemplating purchasing one for each bedroom in my new home. If there's room in a bathroom, this would be perfect as a nightlight. You could unplug it while you use the outlets for hair dryers and curling irons, then plug it in again at night. Remember, this lamp/clock doesn't take up that much room. Also, you could utilize the various lamp colors and nature sounds while taking a bath to help you relax while you soak in the tub!Also, keep in mind that this particular model I purchased is NOT battery powered. You must plug this into an electrical outlet.If you don't believe anything I posted here, do yourselves a favor and watch the videos that people have recorded for this product. I'm glad I took the time to read the reviews and watch those videos!Money well spent!!

I've been looking at getting a sunrise alarm clock for a while and looked at a few. I chose this one because it seemed comparable to the others in this price range, and I really liked the look. Most of the others look cheap and are round, this one had a more minimalist/sleek look. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I hoped.My two main issues were 1) the picture makes the light look golden and soft. The light was instead really white and bright. Even on the dimmer setting the light was really white. That wouldn't have been a deal breaker, but it was disappointing. My biggest issue was 2) the time display didn't turn off even on the sleep setting. Someone asked a question, asking if it could be turned off and someone replied that it could. That answer was the reason I bought this alarm. I read and reread the instructions and fussed with all the buttons and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to turn off the damn display. I have to have near darkness when I sleep and that bright display was so disruptive for me.The wake up setting was fine, though I wasn't a fan of any of the preprogramed noises. They would have been fine if they were longer and it wasn't so obvious it was a sort recording being played over and over.Again, I would have been fine with all the above issues if the darn display could be easily turned off.

It makes a great night light because it's a warm light and it can be dimmed so it's very nice for a baby and kids if they're afraid of the dark (:
