I hope this series has a long run
It was hard me to believe they took one of my favorite comic book villains and turned him into a hero set in a pulpy Sci-Fi world that is reminiscent of works from half a century ago. There's a suicidal robot sidekick, Space Pandas, and more. The artwork is great and looks like almost every frame was painted in a way to match the style of old pulp Sci-Fi. If you want something that is light and fun to read, then this is a great buy.

A glorious romp through the marvel universe
I went into this volume not having read anything that came before it. That made this kind of awkward, since this spins directly out of an arc from the guardians of the galaxy. The venom symbiote has been cleansed, whatever that means, this volume never properly explains that, and flash Thompson is now wandering across the universe as a freelancing hero. Over the course of this story flash assembles some wacky crew of miscreants whom are all glorious, a suicidal robot, a giant murderous panda, and a red cottonseed warrior woman who claims flash for her harem of husbands. The art I'd greet kind of photorealistic that makes all the cosmic space wackiness all the better. It's site great volume, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a standard space adventure but isn't digging Bendis writing guardians of the galaxy.

Better than expected
Honestly, it's not the kind of story I want the Venom character to go in, but I can't deny that it was a fun, pulpy sci do adventure. I really liked it as it's own thing, and the artwork was fantastic.

Super fun read
Super fun read, probably could have used better shipping/handling method, this came in a bubble wrapped envelope with corner protectors or a hard shell around the paperback itself. Was a little bummed it had some shipping scuff imprinted on the cover. Other than that, great art, fun story, and can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Flash Thompson Venom in a gorgeous pulp sci-fi series
After a stint with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel now takes the Rom, Space Knight path and makes Agent Venom as an Agent of the Cosmos. Robbie Thompson's story doesn't break new ground but is an enjoyable homage to pulp science fiction tales of before. The real star here is Ariel Olivetti's astounding painted art. It captures the spirit of those Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers tales with lush alienscapes and fantastic creatures.

Venom and his adventures in space
A solid and fun series. We get a very weak explanation of what the deal is with the Agents of the Cosmos, they basically hear voices that tell them people need help. But them it's on with the Space Knighting. I'd love to see them throw in what they can from the ROM series of the 80's. the book is pretty standard until the space panda shows up, then it's golden. Flash is definitely missing characters to play off of in most of the book. Trying to write a comic without any supporting cast is tricky. Ariel Olivetti's art is hit and miss with me. It's very static and I'm not sure how much I enjoy his 3D computer art, but it is extremely detailed.

Spinning out of "Guardians of the Galaxy," Venom is now on a solo mission as an Agent of the Cosmos.
Collects Venom: Space Knight issues #1-6Spinning out of "Guardians of the Galaxy," Venom is now on a solo mission as an Agent of the Cosmos, a being that can sense when others need help. Venom's symbiote (that has been in the Marvel Universe for decades) was recently purified of its rage, and now Flash Thompson is able to use the symbiote to do good for the galaxy. At first it felt like this collection was made up of a bunch of mini-adventures, but by the end of this volume everything ties together (which I always appreciate). This volume also started building a cast for Venom. It is as if he has his own version of the Guardians of the Galaxy now. For me, the standout character is the robot named 803.The artwork was semi-photorealistic, but for some reason, I didn't love it. The story was pretty good, and this volume goes a long way in advancing the character of Flash Thompson as a solo hero.Final rating = 3.5 starsSPOILERS:-Even though 803 was my favorite new character in this book, I have an early prediction that he will end up betraying Venom, and becoming the big bad of this series.-To be honest, even though I like that they are building a cast for Venom, I could have lived without most of the new characters. But, I guess you can't go wrong with space pandas.-The revelation that the symbiote can now take form and speak to Flash when not connected to Flash was a fun surprise, but I think that makes the symbiote less interesting as a whole.
