I don't know if it's easy to play but looking forward to a new toy.

This Kalimba is on the lowest end of the price spectrum, but significantly higher on the quality scale. The sound is fair, but not stellar. This is a great product for a first kalimba. The kalimba is just up from rock bottom as far as price goes, so it should not be expected to produce a professional quality sound. The keys all sound (on mine) and it is easy to tune with the included tuning hammer. The kalimba is a very easy instrument to pick up from a piano background (albeit with a little up-front practice to get used to the alternating note configuration) and easy to learn from any other musical background. Without having taken any kind of music lessons, it would still be fairly easy to at least pick out a common melody, but doing intervals and chords and key changes takes significant knowledge of music theory to achieve. As far as quality for price, my individual kalimba is great. there are no dead tines, and I can fix the buzzing tines. However, as mentioned before, the quality control is not great, so keep in mind that some people get several dead tines, or it comes with a crack, etc.... Just send the thing back for a replacement; no big deal. The sound is fine, it can be tuned accurately. It produces calming tones without jarring buzzing or missing tones, and all the keys have some sustain. The sustain is great in the first octave, but, as with most kalimbas of varying quality, the sustain gets dramatically less toward the top of the second octave. It is worth noting that few kalimbas have much sustain in the upper octave regardless of material or price. I got this kalimba just to try the instrument, and I found I enjoy it, so I will be getting a better one, but I will also keep this one. It's good enough that it earned a place in my practical musical instrument collection. I definitely recommend this product.

It's not bad, sound depreciates a good bit in the higher notes but it's pretty good for the price.

You have to tune it alot but it sounds so cool and weather you are just picking it up or you have been playing it for a while everyone who I have play it enjoys how easy it is to use. The only thing to 'note' is that the holes in the back don't give the wash sound very well

The media could not be loaded.  This is a great smaller thumb piano. It can play some pretty cool beats. It can be louder or lower just by covering the holes at the bottom. It comes with a storage bag too so it's kept safe. Also has thumb guards to keep your thumbs safe. Amazing price and truly a must have for any kid who loves piano and making music.

This was the 3rd one I have bought for different teens and I am really happy with this find. Each one was sent to a teen out of state so I have not seen for myself. I am only telling what they told me. It is as beautiful as the picture shows and the craftmanship is better than I hoped for. The sounds are beautiful and sounds so clear. I understand that the parents have taken each of them over and are learning to play themselves. From what the parents are telling me, I am going to order one for myself. Easy to hold and play. It is soothing to play one parent told me and she was hoping it would help her daughter with anxiety.

Could have been a bit cuter had they painted this instrument. The wood seems flimsy. The bag is very cheaply made, and the material looked like someone threw dirt all over it. The accessories are missing & lacking, and I would almost guess this is a return that ended up back in cyber space.
