The Road to Finding Us: A Second Chance Romance (The Aftershock Series)

Lily and Aspen took me on an emotional roller coaster! I loved the book but was happy for it to end to finally see their HEA! The first book, not necessary to read but does introduce the characters, had me questioning Aspen and his feelings for Lily. Seeing his POV in this story and reading his thoughts showed how much he truly cared for her since day 1, even if he didn’t show it well. I love how in the story, even after years since Lily and Aspen have seen each other, Aspen still knows Lily better than anyone and knows her likes and dislikes. The epilogue brought me so much joy, not only getting to see into Aspen and Lily’s future but also Maverick and Veronica’s.

I'm not sure what you call a second chance that really didn't begin with an actual first chance but Kat did it again, portraying such a sweet, young love. Aspen overcame so much and really matured while Lily was kind of immature but realistic in a portrayal of young girls who do get jaded in relationships or almost-relationships. The insecurity breeds and it's incredibly difficult to overcome. Overall, a happy ending. I'm glad I got to see a smidge bit more of Mav + V.

Ughhh Aspen & Lily story is a love that’s so relatable. A love that starts young and turns to hate . But as they says there’s a fine line between love and hate.

Spoilers* I hate that the MFC was manipulated by her friend and the MMC. I think that’s gross and that no one seems to get that except Lily is problematic. I also don’t understand why there was so much drama. It felt really contrived. Also lily was annoying not a spitfire and Aspen was whiny and directionless.

I loved this book! It’s rare a second book involves so much story of the first couple, it gave perfect closure of maverick and Veronica’s story. I loved aspen and lily in this book, the fighting and love story, I loved it.

I enjoyed their story, but not as much as the story of Veronica and Maverick. It still was a joy to read and I’m glad I did

If you’re looking for a short read with cute characters, this is the book to read! I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for more❤️

Nette Geschichte, aber die ständigen Zeitsprünge waren nervig. Auch Verstand ich ihre Weigerung an seine Liebe zu glauben nicht wirklich. Der Schreibstil war gut. Das Buch kann man lesen, muss es aber nicht.

At times I didn't know if I liked the characters, they seemed immature. HOWEVER, the deeper into the book I got I realised that their love was immature, and the book allowed it to progress, mature and grow. Whilst sometimes I shouted at Lily to stand up for herself and just say no, I realise that she was truly in love and couldn't\wouldn't. Whilst at times I might have felt frustrated I think that is the charm of the book and just goes to show how invested I got in the book and the characters and the relationship. The dual timeline is a good tough to relieve and grow tension!
