RAM Double Socket Arm Short Composite

With the small amount of space I have on my motorcycle this small ram mount helped fix my problem with my navigation screen now it fits behind my windshield fering on my 2023 Himalayan. Ram mounrs are fantastic and easy to use, built tough, work everywhere and are easily fixed.

RAM is one of the first companies that produced these for whatever you want to use them for, so they're the industry standard as far as quality. They're all sized to use the same dimension (like 1 inch) so you can mix or match components as you wish, or change the length of the connector to better suit your job with confidence. These short connectors work for just about anything, and they're less expensive now than they ever were before. I like how easy it is to take them apart and reassemble, thanks to those little springs allowing you to push the ball-head into the connector without having to juggle or have an extra hand. The hold is adequate, but as you use them that only becomes better as the balls become more rounded and roughened-up on a surface-level for a better grip.

There's something about unboxing a product and it being perfectly setup to install. No fiddling, ready to go. Spring pressure holds the arm onto one ball, with the adjustment screw preset at just-enough space to slip it onto the 2nd ball, I love you. 5 half turns and it was tight. The confidence of a lifetime warranty and it fitting so well out of the box, will be using ram mounts for whatever projects in the future. Simple & fast to reposition. I went composite since it's lighter than the aluminum version, less weight bouncing around

I've been intrigued by ball-type clamping systems for a few years now because of their extreme movement and locking ability. This is the first time I've used Ram mounts and I have to say I'm very impressed. I'm using my own ball-type clamps for welding purposes, this might not be ethically cool, but I've bought and studied some of these mounts to create my own. Back to this socket arm. It's made out of what appears to be very durable polymer. It reminds me of the same stuff they made my Glock lower out of . It's kind of amazing material because it's lightweight, strong and durable. So far, I've not seen any indication that this socket arm is going to fail. I would not use it around heat, so I will make my own out of steel balls and metal plates or maybe cut a pipe in half and work it from there. This socket arm gives you two ball joints worth of flexibility and the amount of rotation is lockable at any position, there are even slots to allow very close to a 90 degree rotation. Whatever it is that you need to hold, this piece will help you out a lot. And you don't have to crank hard on the handnut to lock the balls in place. The Ram balls are rubber or at least rubber coated plastic. I made my own out of 25mm steel ball bearings with studs or nuts welded to them and this socket arm held the steel balls just as securely as the rubber Ram ones. Clearly, I'd love to have a few more of these. Super handy to hold things and eventually my shop will have many of these-type clamping systems for various purposes. A vital component to having a second set of hands, mechanically.

It does sometimes slip if to much force is applied. It works amazing for my insta 360 setup. Used two different mount points and didn't have any issues. Definitely high quality and sturdy.

At 80 mm centre to centre this mount gives a multitude of position options in my Sprint St fairing; forward back and leaning. The phone is secure at all speeds and dealt with pot holes too. No regrets. Highly recommended. Am going to get a shorter one for my cruiser (no fairing)

Gebruik deze RAM-mount ondertussen al een paar jaar om de Garmin Zumo XT op mijn fiets te bevestigen Gamin Zumo XT is bedoeld voor motoren maar ik gebruik het op mijn fiets omdat het een groot scherm heeft, goed zichtbaar terwijl je aan het fietsen bent). Ik plan de fietstochten met het programma BaseCamp. Importeer de GPX als "spoor" in mijn GPS en dan werkt het foutloos. Deze RAM-mount beugeltjes, samen met de RAM bal (bevestigd op het stuur) werken perfect om de Garmin Zumo (of elke andere GPS) op een stabiele manier op je stuur te bevestigen. Deze is de iets langere versie zodat de GPS iets hoger staat.

Ram mounts are high quality. I ordered two components and they arrived separately. Took two weeks and two and a half weeks to come.

Compre este kit "Ram Mount Rap-B-201U Kit de Montaje - Kit de Sujección" junto con "RAM Mount RAM-B-272 Kit de Montaje - Kit de sujección" y "AM Mount RAM-HOL-UN7B - Soporte móvil" Lo compre por falta de lugar en el manillar de la moto para poner un accesorio para sujetar el móvil. Con esto me lo ha solucionado completamente el problema, la bola inferior la tengo sujeta con el mismo tornillo que sujeta la pantalla. Con los otros kits puedo acomodarlo para tener el móvil encima de la pantalla de información de la moto. PROS: ➡️Fácil de montar ➡️Se agarra como si fuese cemento aun alcanzando velocidades muy altas no se mueve. ➡️El kit del móvil tiene una goma para poder engancharlo mas aun al enganche del móvil, aunque no es necesario pero siempre viene bien esa seguridad extra. CONTRA: ➡️Por poner pega, le pondría que la casa RAM no tiene un enganche para el móvil con funda para poder protegerlo de la lluvia con este sistema. ➡️Es obvio pero si queréis grabar con el móvil en la moto con este enganche... es prácticamente imposible obviamente, las vibraciones de la moto hace que tiemble la cámara y se vea mal.
