It states on the plug I have: 13A (Amps) which mean that it should be OK for 3289W (13A x 253V) but it is never a good idea to use electrical components/connections at their maximum rating so 3000W should be considered the absolute limit. UK mains voltage regulations I believe is still being kept the same as it was under the EU ie. nominally 230V but allowed to be in the range +10% to - 6% (253V to 217V). If you're thinking about using it with a kettle, about the only thing apart from an electric oven, used regularly in a domestic situation, with that sort of power draw then you'll be fine. However it would seem to be not a good idea to use either of the two other sockets of this 3 way adapter when boiling a kettle or any combination of devices which exceed 3000W.

Q: Why do the plugs not go right into the sockets on this item? Does it mean it is faulty or is it something else?

Mine go all the way in, you have to push the longer pin in first as this fully opens up the other pin holes. This is standard on all plugs in order to avoid people electrocuting themselves. Give it a little more pressure and it should go in fine.

Q: Does this have the ukca or ce safety mark for electrical products?

Yes, the product has a CE mark. It also has a BS number.

Q: Is there a light indicating surge protection, if not how do you know surge protection hasent failed after several use?

Each independent switch has a light to show when it's on. I'm sure if the surge protection failed, the light would not come on.
