woodworking tool set 8 pcs carpenter's wood chisel set (Sapelle handle 8 pcs set)

It’s a replacement for my son because I broke the one he had. And he loves it

The media could not be loaded. I was surprised by the quality of these chisels out of the box. The backs were relatively flat and I finished them on some diamond plates over a couple of days. The steel (Cr-V, 60??) seems hard and I suspect relatively low carbon content. While they took a decent edge and seemed to keep it even while working a piece of very hard maple that had been dried for 30+ years, they didn't seem to get as sharp as I would like. Overall a decent set that will take a beating but not replace a premium tool.

Initial review upon opening.They come in a sturdy wood box that latches. The steel is hard and the bottoms are ground flat with a clean bevel. The handles are hardwood.They are not finished but with a minimal amount of stone work they would be in usable condition.They are very nice chisels if you don't mind putting a bit of TLC on them. Great deal for the price.

Look like good quality and fair price, but when received, the ferrules were loose around the handles and floppy. I was out of town during product arrival so did not inspect the chisels until it was after the return period, so i am out of luck to get a replacement or refund.

Sharp and useful, right or if the box. Handles are sturdy, and I like the box for easy storage in a small shop.

They are not sharp. The edges look like they were "sharpened" with 40 grit sandpaper.

The media could not be loaded. Great little set of chisels that will last if you take care of them.the stones seem to work for keeping them sharp so. I can't say much wrong with this set.

These chisels work fairly well out of the box. Once they are properly honed and the backs flattened they work very well. They are not Stanley sweetheart chisels but other than that fact they work quite well. They are even long enough for use as pairing chisels. The steel seems fairly strong and holds an edge. They are definitely better than buying a three pack of construction chisels from the big box stores at almost the same price.Just saying...
