Saving Miss Everly: The Inglewood Series, Book 3

The romance and the narrator were *good* but...
Saving Miss Everly hits all the marks that make readers love Sally Britton's books: sweet, swoon-worthy romance; well searched/Historically accurate stories; and, for this particular case, adventure the likes not even Hope Everly would have dreamed. I loved that this book while giving us Hope's POV of the "ruse" she and Grace had been pulling off, was not set on the same time frame as Discovering Grace, but rather continued with this series timeline. I ended up enjoying myself while reading Hope's adventures on the island, as well as slowly falling in love with the Spaniard they found there. I also loved Alejandro's character: how despite all he had suffered he still had so much to give, how he helped all those stranded English people on his island, and how he only needed a gentle reminder to have hope :) The narrator was fantastic as ever and brought every character (and every nuance of emotion) to life. So, you may ask, if I enjoyed/loved so many things from this book, why did I give it that rating? First, let me say that 3 stars = I liked it. And that's fair because I *did* like it. But, the thing is, this book needed a Spanish proofreader, both for the book and audiobook. After all, as much as I love English, it's not my native language. So, even though I considered only knocking off a star (since they are basically less than a handful of typos), I ended up deciding on two since two of them happened at what should have been two romantic/sweet moments within the book, but which ended up turning the romance off for me.All in all, this was a 3.5 rating for me.To future readers: I have already mentioned what didn't work for me, but I know that won't be (and hasn't been) an issue for many (if not all) of you who will love Alejandro's accent and will devour his and Hope's romantic story. To authors who will want to write a Spanish speaking character in the future: if Spanish is not your native language, I'm pretty sure you know someone who does. Reach out to that person and ask them to check the phrases you're wanting to use in your book. If you don't think you do, reach out to your readers. Don't sell yourself short. Chances are your work has already reached Spanish speaking people. Ask them for this favor and I'm positive they'll be glad to help you.

Big disappointment
This is one of, if not the most, tedious novels I have read. It has a thin and obvious plot, sketchy main characters, and a never ending conclusion. Horrible read.

A wonderful adventure about being who you really are
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. Hope Everly goes off on an adventure to St. Kits pretending to be her twin sister when disaster strikes. Stranded on an island with her friends and a castaway, Hope struggles with the expectations of others and being her true self. The love story is satisfying with wonderful characters. The emotions are heartfelt, lead to better understanding of the heart and are true to human nature. The hero and heroine are well matched and likeable. The story stands alone and is a welcome addition to the series. I actually preordered this book several month's ago after reading Discovering Grace, then was lucky enough to receive a review copy. I was not disappointed, this is a swoon worthy sequel to Grace Everly's story. I'm hoping for Issac's story next to finish the Inglewood series. I highly recommend this book series and other books by this author.

So much to love about this book....!!
I will admit that I have loved everything I have read by Sally Britton. This book, Saving Miss Everly is my most favorite yet!I have to say that I was worried that the story might be a little corny... shipwrecked on a deserted island... (I had visions of Gilligan's Island and Castaway in mind lol!!). But no, this story is so great and pretty much believable. This author's talent for making great characters shines in this story.Hope and Alejandro are a love match at first sight - but neither really believes it at first. Hope is all for it, but Alejandro thinks there are too many obstacles for them to overcome. I love his honorable nature - and I love the author's use of Spanish for some of his dialog as well! So well done!Their adventures are dramatic and suspenseful. The chemistry and attraction between them is strong - and sweet.I will eagerly read this one again and highly recommend it to all!

Disappointing addition to the series. Mostly clean.
I have loved other books by Sally Britton, especially the first two in this series. But this #3 disappointed me. It didn't hold my attention. And there were scenes were either half-naked bodies, undressing or bathing were referenced. I don't appreciate scenes like that. They were mild and I wouldn't label as "dirty", but they are not scenes I like. I did enjoy the ending because it was fun to see all the characters I love from past books. Despite not enjoying this book, I am planning on reading the rest of the series. There was no language, gore, or sex scenes in this book. It was pretty clean, except for what I mentioned above.

What a wonderful story!
I have read and enjoyed all of Sally Britton's books. I have particularly enjoyed the Inglewood series and have read all 3 books. This story is my absolute favorite. Such a different story line and such rich characters. I was enthralled with the love story between Hope and Alejandro. This story was engaging from page 1 and kept my attention to the very last sentence. Loved this book! Well written and edited and a clean romance that will capture your heart.

Probably a 3.5, but a good read
There was so much to like about this book. Some nice writing. Being stranded was well done.Yet, I found a few times I was bored and wanted to get to the "what happens". The conflict - a twin pretending to be another twin, or denying love when you are on an island you may never get off of, were weak plot devices. I had to just go with some of the triteness, because I did like the main characters. The 3 sailors were just there, and if characters are in a whole book, there should be a reason for them being there. Hope didn't take the time to get to know them. I am glad I read it, and the author is a good writer. I just needed stronger motivation. I always like it best when characters are honest with each other.

A thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read.
This tale of being shipwrecked on a desert island grabbed me from the first line. The author managed the neat trick of one twin pretending to be the other, two different personalities in one. Add in a gorgeous Spaniard and you have a recipe for a beautiful and sweet romance, with people behaving, for once, like they would have in the early 19th century, i.e. not jumping into bed before marriage. No sex scenes in this book, thank goodness. The romance, as it blossoms, is described in beautiful emotional detail. At one point I was quite emotional as I read. Add into the mix a motley crew of fellow castaways, including a kindly doctor and his wife, and a dreadful, snobbish, arrogant young man, with his whining, selfish sister, who help to carry the story forward and you have a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read.I loved it, and another of Ms Britton's novel's is already sitting on my kindle awaiting my attention. I highly recommend this book.

Okay
This was okay. I did feel at times that it was dragging on a bit and I lost interest occasionally. There wasn't quite enough of a connection between the main characters for my taste. Sometimes it felt more like I was being told they liked each other than actually seeing any evidence of it. Alejandro did blow hot and cold quite a lot. It's a clean read (for those who care one way or the other. It doesn't matter to me). It was an okay book, but I would have liked a bit more story, particularly after the island. A bit less of the island, and more time sorting things out afterwards, might have rounded out the story more.

A good read
I enjoyed reading this book but there could have been much more description of the island and the characters than there was.

bravo!
I loved it. Couldn’t put it down. Laughed, bit my nails (not really as I don’t do that… But you t the idea!) And shed tears and had a sympathetic ache in my heart. One of those stories which mirrors too much of one’s life and will linger for some time to come. Well done!
