Q: I received an answer to my question that 16 gauge is light weight. It is advertised on Amazon as heavy weight. 10-12 is heavy weight. Thoughts?

Heavy duty is being used because it is insulated and outdoor approved and is 3 prong / grounded. Lightweight extension cords are 2 prong /ungrounded and for indoor use. Lightweight extension cables are not suitable for items that draw large amounts of power, such as blenders, power saws, hair dryers, or anything outdoors. They are great for alarm clocks, televisions....anything 2 pronged that doesn't surge. 16 gauge is more "medium weight". The real deciding factor on if it gets lumped with heavy duty or light duty is things like "Is it grounded?", "Is it outdoor rated?" If the answer is yes to both it is heavy duty, if the answer is yes to one or none, then it is lightduty. Guage isn't the only thing to look at in an extension cord, but it is still important. Always make sure the extention cord gauge is equal to or "lower" than the device being plugged in. If your vacuum has a 20 guage cord, you should never use a 22 guage extension cord, but an 18 guage extension cord would work. Never plug a 3 pronged device into a 2 pronged cord or outlet. Specs are more important than the label heavy duty or light duty. And this extension cord provided all the specs necessary to determine if it is the right one for the application. Hope this helps.

Q: The picture shows and states 6 ft, but the description and details say 100 ft (2 pack). Is this a total of 200 ft of extension cord??

I have a 3pack of 6 foot outdoor extension cords. The yellow ones from Bindmaster. The item # AB6Y G 3P I don't remember the description on these cords being 100'. The cords I have are Just right if you only need to add a small amount of length to a power cord.

Q: Can this be used with 2 prong string lights?

Assuming your plugging in something that uses AC to power the string lights, then yes.

Q: Can this be buried under mulch?

For the cable itself, I would say yes. Since it is built in durable material. But not for the connector, it is not waterproof.
