Q: Is this even worth buying since it's made of cardboard? Doesn't it get wet and soggy when you're using it?

If you’re using it with acrylic paint, don’t rinse it off. The acrylic dries on the stencil and actually strengthens it! The commenter that said they seal it, well this is the same thing. They are great!

Q: Would these be able to be used with gelli plates?

We do not see any reason why you couldn’t use these on the Gelli plates but just a reminder that they are paper stencils so they may soak up wet art material if they are placed on top of already worked media. To extend the life of the stencils and make them "wipe-able" use a foam brush and apply glaze or gel medium found at your local art supply store. Allow the gel to completely dry. Apply to both sides.
