This came with missing hardware and you can't lock it in place like most because the locking mechanism has been replaced with a worthless little red lever that does absolutely nothing. Where the lock is supposed to be you can find two empty holes.

Very well made.i had to make a lock to hold it shut it didn't want to stay on its own.but other than that it worked great.

nice solid built latch over 1.5" of adjustment in the bar and a smooth firm lock into position useing this for a diy FABRICATED SWING TIRE CARRIER AND IT HAS STAYED SHUT EVEN OVER some big offroad bumps.i will update this review after a year to give my perception over time

Well built and easy to install. Worked great for my application.I added a small piece of steel so I could use a cotter key to make sure it didn't open while driving.

Heavy duty and sturdy. Product shipped without the latch plate. Contacted Amazon representative who promptly addressed the issue. Will purchase again.

I used this latch for a swing away tire carrier I built for my Scout II. It works perfect for this purpose. I would definitely use De Sta Co latches for future projects.

great heavy duty latch. used to it build a tire carrier latch on my jeep. Still doing a great job years later.
