Q: is the headset automatically paired with the dongle, I want to put the dongle in the usb of a VoIP desk phone so you cant load drivers

I used the headset with my desktop which has Bluetooth, the pairing was automatic. It should work on an external dongle if all the connections are fine, but not sure about the VoIP desk phone.

Q: Does it have any light to indicate when mute is on or off? like right or blue light to indicate mute function if on? or off?

Apparently there is, but you're unlikely to see it, since it is mounted to the side of your head. You do get an audible indication in the form of a voice. "Mute on" "Mute off".
