I bought two of these to modified my back hanging filter that came with 29 gallons TopFin. I don’t like using cartridge and keep losing the beneficial bacteria in the system. So I decided to give this try, and I am glad I did. I like the bio ring small bags which prefect for my filter size and the I love the sponge, it fits perfectly.The sponge is big mesh which filter the water without over blocking. I found them work nice in my aquarium. However,There is couple of things I would like to mention here. Each aquarium is unique and has it own system . The bio rings and the sponge need good ruins specially the bio rings to remove all of the dust ( I ruined it in bucket filled from my aquarium). I will like to mention that I add sponge filter to the intake of filter and bag of Ammonia removal. Also I have two sponge filters already working in my aquarium

I rejoined the aquarium super nerd ranks after a lengthy hiatus and much, much less money this year. I'm so grateful for deals like this, because for my internal filter on my 5 gal, these last me a year. That said & not wanting to be thought cheap, I wanna add I'm using Fluval plant aquarium plant fertilizer too, but...that's also so great one bottle on a 5 gal will last me a year too. I don't care if anybody thinks I'm a shill, because Fluval is one of the few companies that has honestly (as in, not my betta, nerites, water & houseplants, or me got stressed) helped me enjoy this hobby again only due to theirs & others low cost, high quality basic, necessary products. Nobody's paying me to say that. I really mean it.

This is a nice little gravel cleaner. The suction cup makes it incredibly easy to change the water. It seems to do a nice job cleaning the gravel as well. I don't think the directions are super clear for someone who has never used a gravel vacuum, but a quick YouTube search will show you all you need to know.

I bought this for the bio-bag, didn't really need the sponge because the original sponge that came with my aquarium has not degraded a bit after two years. I simply rinse thoroughly in aquarium water bi-weekly. It's brown and ugly, but works fine. I decided to stop buying the carbon filters and instead doubled up on the bio-bags in my Fluval filter unit. I find that the water stays very clear without the carbon filters, as long as I keep the tank away from windows and employ algae eaters in the tank. I use a magfloat to deal with any minor algae on the tank between cleanings.

Excellent media to shine up my tanks water and easy to rinse off. Good stuff.

Bought this hoping that I was correct in my assumption that there simply wasn't enough surface area to grow sufficient bacteria in my aquarium to keep the water clean. I added this 2 days ago to my outside filter and this morning, it's clear. Finally!! Il be purchasing a lot more of this product and highly recommend it. Sure beats tearing down a 55 to install a undergravel filter!

This is the best heater out there for your money. We've gone through a couple of brands only to be disappointed by the lack of performance. This heater is true to its reading and performs well in my 12 gallon tank as a 100 watt. It's easy to play with and change temperature. The only con is that it's bulky in my tank. But it's to be expected.
