I am always changing my hair color, but for the most part it is pretty dark. About 6 months ago I decided to do a medium brown to blonde balayage/ombre at my salon with the colorist I have used for years. I wanted my hair to be ashy and more cool tones but I knew it would turn brassy from lifting it. My colorist did wonders on my hair but it was still more golden and brassy than I had wanted. I did a lot of research on a silver/purple shampoo to use and decided to order this one. It was delivered today and I just used it for the first time. I'm not big on writing lengthy reviews but it was hard for me to find a product review coming from those with darker hair and not bleach blonde. I showered and left the shampoo on my hair for about 3-5 minutes. In one shampoo/and conditioner treatment I had seen a noticeable change in the tone of my hair. Previously, I had used Goldwell Anti-Brassiness Purple Shampoo and it did a good job of maintaining my current color but I did not see any change to the tone really. I was shocked when this made a difference immediately. My hair went from golden copper/yellow tones to a pretty ashy oatmeal color. The shampoo and conditioning treatment are both very pigmented. The shampoo is basically a black gel color and the treatment is more of a very deep blue violet cream. If you're looking to make a difference and keep your hair toned, this is a great product! Being that I have medium brown to dark blonde hair, I suggest those with lighter blonde hair only leave it on for a typical shampoo or a minute or two otherwise you might start to see gray tones. Now that I know the reviews for this brand were absolutely true, I am going to look into purchasing their purple shampoo as well which might give off less gray-toned results.

I am transitioning to my natural salt and pepper hair color, and this helps to tone the old dye and highlights in my hair. I’ve tried MANY silver shampoos, both purple and blue. This is hands does the best job for my dark hair. It brightens my gray hair and tones the brassiness of my old dye/highlights. Love this! Blue is for brunettes. Purple is for light brown to blonde. Both are non-yellowing and impart a nice brightening to natural gray/silver hair.

The directions for the shampoo say to do 2 washings and to wait for 5-10 minutes before rinsing the second time. Do this and you will get optimal results. I get compliments on my hair every time I use this!

I've been bleaching my hair with the goal of white/gray/blue tones for a while now, and the purple shampoos have just not worked for me.I recently had bright blue applied to my roots and was super annoyed at how yellow the rest of my hair looked in comparison -- even with purple applied.This has a ton of gray/blue pigment that leaves my hair an awesome pastel blue/gray -- especially when applied to dry hair and allowed to sit for 15 minutes. Love it! It's called silver blue and produces that color exactly.
