Sturdy whelping box, very easy to put together. I put it together on my own, armed with only a screwdriver, within 20 minutes. Ordered the large for our cocker which is massive, could have gotten away with a medium but never mind. Size large will easily accommodate labradors and other large breeds. Pups will have plenty of room to grow and mum can move away from them for a rest if she wants to. Included plastic sheeting will make it easy to clean up too. Nicely made and good value for money. Will be easy to take apart and put away until it is next needed. Definitely worth buying.

After our little floozy had a liaison with the boy that moved in next door (a tale as old as time), we soon discovered she was expecting! After lots of research, decided on this whelping box as seemed sturdy and fit for purpose. I was right (phew) and Ellie gave birth to 8 beautiful pups and despite trying to lie on them all the time (d’oh), the rail around the edge helped to protect them as did any one of the family members that monitored them for the first 3 weeks. After 4 weeks the little beauties became terrors as they learned how to climb up one side and go splat on the other so if your dogs are going to be on the smarter side… you may want to invest in the height extender. As it was, with 8 pups, we moved onto a bigger pen at just over 4 weeks as they needed the space and have since given the original whelping box to another person who is about to have puppies themselves! It came down really easily and was reassembled with no issues. Worth the money.

Decent whelping pen. Sturdy. Presumably Large Dog Whelping Pen means it's for large dogs. My cavapoo actually lay UNDER the "pig rail", as you can see in the photograph, so we had to be on extra alert for squashed puppies. Having said that it's doing well so far and is a nice safe space for the pups. I have attached feeding bowls to the railings which is quite handy. The size is perfect for our lounge. Not too big. Not to small. We can sit in the pen if need be and I like the waterproof sheet for underneath. The metal railings are a bit bent but it doesn't affect the use. Pretty happy. A must have for and owner expecting a litter. :)

Following a very late confirmation of an unplanned pregnancy, due date of 22nd December, I ordered this item. Delivery was estimated to be 21st, but a quick message to the seller resulted in a quicker delivery, not needed as birthed on 25th, but very much appreciated, just for the peace of mind. Only ended up having 1 Labrador pup, and mother rejected her, but the box has been ideal for areas with a heat lamp, 1 for a heat pad, and the other half with just bedding, so pup can regulate temperature despite no litter mates. The box is definitely big enough for a mum and litter, and is very well made and easily assembled. Would recommend based in quality and the sellers customer service.

I actually liked this whelping box. The design is simple yet effective. I do feel its quite pricy for what it is but the fact its so easy to assemble makes up for it. The only complaint I have is the cage round the side is pretty low. A larger breed can and will easily jump over it which renders it pretty useless for containing her however i guess it will contain the pups which is something.

Absolutely brilliant whelping box. I originally bought a cardboard one, but didn’t rate it at all due to it being hard to keep clean, so invested in this box. It has been great- it’s the perfect size for my golden doodle large bitch, and 13 of her pups. It also came with a waterproof bottom mat which has been a god send in keeping my floor clean. The wire wall is a safe size for pups not to get stuck, the whelping rail side has also helped save a lot of the pups from being squished. The door that opens and allows mum out but not pups has been fantastic to give her freedom as they older. I’m so impressed, I’m actually looking to get another one so that when the pups get bigger I can connect them to make seperate eating sleeping toilet areas. Also, quick delivery when I explained I needed it urgently. Fab!

This was an excellent whelping pen for my golden retriever and her puppies. It was a good size right up until the pups were old enough to go to their new homes. Sturdy and very easy to keep clean. We found we needed an electric screwdriver for some of the joints although otherwise it was easy enough to construct. An added bonus was that the mesh surrounding the pen was portable enough to take outdoors to create a nice playpen in the garden when joined to another playpen. The only changes we had to make was putting a higher mesh around the pen when one of the pups began to climb out at about 6 weeks! Highly recommended
