PL8 Professional Chopper, White - Multi-Functional Vegetable Chopper, Dicer, and Mincer with Sturdy Stainless Steel Frame, Perfect for Onions, Tomatoes, and More

I have great knife skills except for onions (when I inevitably cut myself) and garlic (when I inevitably either schmear it or leave chunks), so I was most curious about this great little chopper for those two vegetables specifically. I could not be happier! The garlic were the tiniest, most perfect dice, three big cloves at a time, so that was by far the fastest and easiest way I've ever chopped my garlic. I cut a large yellow onion into quarters and BAM! One after another, the most perfect dice. I just stared in disbelief at the wonderful pile of chopped onions, and my uncut fingers. The chopped vegetables collect perfectly in a sliding container underneath. SO HAPPY with the way this chopper worked. I was curious about how well it would clean....all those little squares holding all the left over bits. They provide a little poking tool to help get any sticky bits out, but it was clean enough with a rinse under the strong faucet and then the dishwasher did the rest. The top comes off and the two pieces (plus the container) fit easily in the dishwasher and it's as clean as new. No bits stuck anywhere. The design is so clever; the grid in the lid that pushes the vegetable through the cutting blade comes with a flexible plastic grid frame that you simply pull off and it cleans the pushing grid completely. The device reassembles simply and easily. All in all, it's a very clever design, as I expect from this company, and it works very well. I'll never cut an onion any other way, unless I need to chop a dozen onions in which case I'd pull out my food processor. But if you're cooking an ordinary meal, and you want chopped or diced fruits or vegetables, this is your tool. My only complaint is that I wish the legs folded under for simpler storage so I could keep it next to my mandoline. Instead, it won't go in my expected drawer but instead in a cabinet, where I don't automatically reach for such a tool. I recommend this tool without reservation! So glad I bought it.

After buying a highly reviewed inexpensive chopper from Amazon, which was thin plastic, but worked well, I sliced my finger open when the sliding cutter lock popped off. I glued the slider back on, but then the plastic retaining clips on the top pusher block broke off, I decided it was time to find a new chopper. I looked at several different choppers with mixed reviews, and this chopper also had a several poor reviews, and it was more expensive. I continued looking, and I went to William Sonoma,which sells high quality products, to see if they sold choppers, and this was the model that they sell. So I decided to give it a try, despite the bad reviews. This chopper is truly a professional product. It is built to Excess, with thick plastic and a heavy duty stand. I believe you would have to try to break this piece. They designed this with attention to every part of it for durability and function. A slide on container, to catch what is chopped, or you can put your own small bowl or plate below it, if you want. I've never used the garlic mincer cutter, it's just more convenient to grab my garlic press. But it's there, if you choose. And it chops great, no matter what I put in it. I know I've been gushing on about this Chopper, but I am the kind of person who gets satisfaction from buying a product, at any price point, that actually works, and looks like it will be with me for many years. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I truly do not understand how anyone can give this chopper a 1 or 2 star rating. Especially if you've ever owned one of these before this one.

This chopper is quite the time saver. My wife and I spend quite a bit of time cooking healthy, home-cooked, meals together... So we also spend a lot of time prepping for those meals. We switch roles in the food prepping, dependent on the meal. When I'm doing the prepping I use the PL8 PL8-1605 Professional Heavy Duty Chopper to chop vegetables into uniform-sized pieces, quickly and easily. It is well-made, durable and simple... non-electric! We also have one in our RV because it's small enough to be stored easily and pulled out when needed. It safely, cuts prepping time in half!

I REALLY like this. I make salsa and this SAVED so much time using this product. I like the two different sizes for chopping. I used the small one this first time for my zucchini salsa I canned. I also add in red, green, yellow, orange peppers for color & onions (and sometimes carrots). It was a miracle how easy it is to use. READ the directions so you do not cut yourself. The blades are VERY sharp. I used a small brush (Libman curved kitchen brush) to clean the cutting blades. That worked well and not cutting of the hands while cleaning the cutting grid. I did end up buying some No Cut gloves just to be on the safe side. I like those too. Keep in mind to follow the directions ... anchor the food product on the cutting square & then press down on the "lid" to chop (keep in mind it does make a loud noise when you connect the two together but it is a wonderful tool. DO NOT make the veggie bigger than the cutting square, you will get messy overflow on the edges of the cutting grid and that is no fun cleaning it. I do like the little plastic 'key' to clean out the grid when there is product sitting there. I only use it when I am completely chopping since you add more veggies and the product will fall through automatically. I watched a few videos to see how other people used this product and that helped. I would recommend to do that. Enjoy using it.

If you like Mediterranean-style salads or chopping anything so it looks like it was "diced at the store", then this is the gizmo to have. I really like the way it processes cucumbers, onions, garlic, peppers, apples, pears, etc. When I'm done, my salads look like they took hours to make when it really only took 10 minutes. I'm a bit concerned about the lasting sharpness of the blades.

This is a very well made. I'm am very happy with it. You can do a small dice on veggies like for pasta or potato salads as there is an extra changeable blade included. Do a larger a larger dice like cubing veggies to saute. There is also a garlic chopper. The top comes off for easy cleaning, The blades are very sharp. So much easier than dragging out a large food processor and the dice is very professional. As a general rule I don't do reviews but this product is great and the price point is right.

It feels sturdy but the chopping action is terrible. It does not work. Either the blades are not sharp enough or the piece that pushes the veggies through is not long enough, or both. Unfortunately my husband threw the box away so I cannot return which is a shame because it was really expensive. Complete dud!

I have tried so many brands with disappointing results. I am so happy with this. It has everything I wished for that other brands didn’t have. The dice blade is actually the right size and there is a garlic mincer!! The peel off cleaning grid makes cleaning up so easy. The base container is well made and seems sturdy. The only thing it doesn’t have are measurement marks but I can live with that. Another problem I have had with other brands is the blade falls apart eventually. Only time will tell but it seems well made also. Can’t go wrong with this.
