Rust-Oleum 367591 Home Interior Floor Coating Kit, Matte Ultra White

I'd been avoiding refurbishing my 80 year old stairs in my house. So many options and ideas, and I wanted something simple that I could tackle myself, and just breath some new life and a clean look to my steps. The hardest part was making sure I didn't need anything from the upstairs while I waited for the recommended drying time so I could actually use the steps in between coats. I painted the flats black, and the risers white. The paint applies very smoothly, but be sure you're using at least a medium quality brush. Very little odor from the paint or the clear coat. 3 coats of white on the risers and sides, and 3 coats on the flats, and I still have almost half a can of each color left over for touch ups down the line should I need them. The clear coat dries to a medium gloss, and you'd swear it was poly or urethane. The clear coat appears milky in the can, but it's ready to go, just shake and go. It's a bit runny, so be sure you are using good lighting and get all your brush strokes evenly. I also applied pre-cut non-slip carpet treads after I was finished, so all the wear and traffic will be applied to the treads. So we'll see how this paint and clearcoat measures up over time. I didn't even use a 1/4 of the clear coat can, so there's plenty left over for another application, or just to use as a yearly maintenence. Well worth the investment, and my stairs look great!

Used to repaint bathroom tile! Turned out beautiful. I chose the matte black color because I was going to a clean modern look. Did several coats to increase coverage since I was converting cream/tan tile to black. The paint is thicker than latex paint. Adhered perfectly onto the ceramic tile. Applied in several thin coats. Key is to not rush the process and let it dry throughly between coats. Gorgeous depth of color. The sealer dries to matte finish and didn’t not change the color of the paint. I did apply three coats of the sealer as this is in a bathroom. This is in a rental home and I haven’t seen how well it’s held up. I was floored (no pun intended) by how that small project modernized the space. I would recommend to anyone wanted to make a change to old tile on a limited budget. Excellent quality product.

This product is amazing. Just clean your floors and they're ready to go you don't have to send your wooden floors as long as they're clean and ready to go you can paint right over it. It's a very easy to step process and it looks great.

Overall this is a great product and super easy to use. Results in really good coverage and a nice finish (for the matte option). My only only issue with this paint is the color...it's SO hard to tell what you're going to get and what it will look like once applied. The left picture is aged grey (my first attempt) but looked too blue /lavender and completely clashed with my dark wood flooring. The middle color is charcoal grey, which is a beautiful color but it too had a blue hue and conflicted with the grey counter top (making the counter appear purplish). The right hand picture is the black which I'm ultimately happy with, just wish I didn't have several other layers of paint underneath it. In certain lighting the black does appear more as a dark navy than a true jet black. Oddly it seems all these paints have blue hints to them. Something to note too is that I ordered 2 charcoal greys and they differed in color...one was darker and one was quite a bit lighter. But having done this THREE separate times now (luckily our half bath is very small), the product applies wonderfully, instructions are easy to follow, AND it's easy to paint over 😊.

Painted my laundry room floor and it came out great! Good coverage and easy to use!

I have two large dogs with nails that never get cut, a toddler, and a blue collar husband. I was NERVOUS to try this. Truly. I half expected it to fail, I really did. This flooring held up! It’s been two whole months and not a single scratch! This flooring has really been through hell. My kid, scratching her dinosaurs across it constantly. The squatty potty scratching across it constantly. My husbands work boots all over it. I’ve dropped things, I’ve gotten water everywhere, and I’ve given the dogs a bath. If you know anything about giving a dog a bath who doesn’t want one, they dig their claws into the floor to try to get traction to get away. Not. A. Single. Scratch. It took me about a week to get the floor painted, I have a pretty busy house and only one bathroom. I started with a good clean with a cheap degreaser from save a lot (totally awesome). I’m sure any degreaser will work. I did the outer trim of the room first, leaving the middle unpainted. Two coats of black, one coat of the matte topcoat. Then I used a foam roller to roll the middle, three coats and then three coats of the top coat. I wanted to be safe it wouldn’t budge. After 2 hours it dries enough for you to walk on it, after you finish it takes 7 days to fully cure so you’re going to want to be careful during those times. In between each coat I lightly wiped all the dog hair and debri out from the bathroom before laying another coat. My house is busy busy, I couldn’t have my bathroom out of commission so it’s definitely not perfect. All in all I’m super pleasantly surprised with the results! I chose matte black. It’s a little hard to keep clean because everything shows, but it looks a lot better than the shiny white dirty tile I started with. Thanks for reading!

This product is very good for tile flooring. I bought 2 times this pack that contains a can of paint and a can of varnish. It covers well and the floor looks like a new one. I Love this product.

I repeat pearl gray is blue. I am glad I did a test spot. Next to my white baseboards and dark brown cabinets and butting up to my grayish wood floors in our laundry dry room it clashes. Product itself seems to very sturdy.

Really easy to apply! You have two coats of paint to apply To really cover well the tiles and then the glue like protecter that makes it stick to the tile properly!!! The can is small but really covers a large area Oh and once you apply the Glue It doesn’t create a glossy look on the tiles.
