Works very well and carry one with me for tough spots!
These work very well with laptops and computers. Comes in handy with good speeds especially when your NIC goes bad, or if your Laptop has an old, slower, “wireless standard,” or if you have poor a WIFI signal.

CableCreation USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet
The device is needed because the Ethernet port on my laptop is broken, and this adapter provided the cheapest solution. In fact I bought two so I’d have a spare on-hand. I checked both and they work perfectly. The gold plating on the USB plug is said to improve connectivity and durability. And, there is stress-relief on both ends and the cable itself is just over four inches long. Packed in an almost indestructible resealable plastic bag, the design is focused on basic function not frills. There are no LED lights to indicate the connection and activity but at a glance I can see the network connection icon on my desktop to confirm. Also a quick check of network settings verifies the speed and internet connection. So far this small unit is performing without issue.

Excellent second NIC for SDWAN
The CableCreation USB to Ethernet Adapter is a reliable and convenient solution for connecting devices without an Ethernet port to a wired network. Its compact design and plug-and-play functionality make it a handy accessory for laptops or tablets. It offers a stable and fast Ethernet connection without any hassle. I used this to add a second network port to my NUC for SDWAN

Needs a driver update to even work
I purchased this item because my new Windows 11 laptop and my old Chromebook both lack rj45 ports. I needed to check both my cable modem and my router to isolate an issue that was causing my GIG internet connection to run at 50 Mbps both up and downstream. When it arrived I plugged it into my Chromebook and attempted to connect via ethernet, but no joy. SO I tried it with the Chromebook and same result. I went to cable creation and downloaded the drivers then installed them with Windows Update. After the drivers were added the adapter worked on both my Windows computer and the Chromebook. I was able to diagnose the cable modem as defective and after replacing it I get 850 Mbps down and 60 Mbps up on the ethernet connected to the router. So this device works well, but you will have to have a means to update it out of the box.

An odd application with the iPad...but it works!
I have spotty wireless internet at my house and prefer wired internet were possible. This was not a problem for most of my devices that have a Ethernet port built in, but in the case of the iPad, that becomes a problem. After doing many hours of research trying to figure out what I was going to need in order to get wired internet on my iPad I discovered it really was not as complicated as I made it out to be. All you need are three things, this adapter, the iPad adapter with lighting connector in and USB in, and a power brick with lightning cable to connect into the Apple adapter. I used both a 10w and 12w Apple power brick and both work fine. A 5w adapter most likely will not provide enough power to charge the iPad and use the adapter at the same time but was untested by myself. Once all of this is connected, there might be a window that appears in the middle of the screen that tells you that the Apple adapter is updating. After that is done, go to settings on the iPad and a brand new setting will appear where you can adjust the wired networking settings for the iPad just like you would for the wireless networking. Great device no issues so far and recommend for people with a problem similar to mine.

The BEST $10 I've spent ALL YEAR!
I just upgraded to Cox Gigablast 1 GB Internet from 100Mbps on a deal for $64.99 for 24 months! Couldn't pass that up! Since it was essentially getting 10x the speed for the same price. Though, like most people you don't get what you pay for. My 100 Mbps service usually only yielded an average of 72Mbps (When they advertise or sell you the service it is usually worded "up to 100Mbps", "up to 1 GBps", etc. I just upgraded to a new laptop with 1GBe Ethernet card, Netgear's "World's Fastest" Modem "CM1000" and World Fastest Router "R700 Nighthawk". "Home Improvement's Tim Allen would be proud! ahh ahh ahhh! I bought into the whole Amazon Alexa Universe with Echo Dot in every room, 2x Roku Smart TVs a bunch of other 5Ghz tech like security cameras, etc. Everything now at the speed of light...except for two of my older laptops and tablets that had the older 10/100 Ethernet/WiFi cards. Which were now getting only 45-72Mbps... Poor Poor Laptops.... which had fast processors, 32 GB of RAM, all 1-2TB SSD drives that make any computer 100% faster or more when replacing the old mechanical HDD, but still no way to fully benefit from the full increased speed of my 1GB connection!? For weeks I looked into replacing the ethernet cards/chips on these devices but since most are hardwired into the devices, unlike desktops where you remove the case cover, pull out the old card and pop in a new one, most laptops don't offer this plug and play capability, making it an expensive proposition that may cause more complications if the new ethernet/wifi card is not fully compatible with the device's motherboard. I was looking at $hundreds more to do this until a techie buddy of mine suggested CableCreation's USB 3.0 adapter, stating that just like the ethernet card, it still requires throughput on the motherboard and he used them on computers where the RJ45 plug port was broke as an inexpensive and much much faster solution alternative to the more expensive removing and replacement of the old ethernet/wifi card. I logged onto my most recent's BFF Jeff Bezos website Amazon.com where if I want something he and his teams find it, ship and have it in my hot little hands in as little as a few hours. The order said 2 days, I said Son of a ... well you know! But Psych!...it showed up the next day...a day earlier! Proof that Jeff & Company loves us... or at least me! ;) :P I ripped open the little bubble wrap package plugged it into one of my older laptops all running Windows 10, plugged the ethernet Cat6 cable into the CableCreation ethernet adapter and the CableCreation ethernet adapter into one of the 3.0 USB slots went to my network noticed it automatically recognized and configured the new Ethernet 2 port and disconnected the old ethernet connection. Nothing for me to do except "Fire it up!" Which I opened my browser and went out onto Fast.com and to my surprise, my old decrepit computer was once again playing with the big boys on the internet! Taking the upgraded 1GB internet service wher I had faster than before speeds of 90Mbps over the old 100Mbps service of I would only get 45-72 Mbps to now 500+Mbps on this laptop! At this point I got all tingly and though I wasn't getting the 600-860Mbps speeds the newer machines with 1GB+ capabilities my poor old laptops were now faster than I ever thought possible! Making this $10.99 + tax with my Prime Member Free Shipping the best $10...$10.99 + tax purchase of 2019! Thanks CableCreations! Thanks Amazon!... (in a lower voice) Thanks Jeff!! :D Attached photos are the real deal! THE END!.... Actually... THE BEGINNING!

Adapter Allowed LAN Connection to Laptop
This adapter is used to allow a LAN connection to my laptop which did not come with a LAN interface. The USB adapter was immediately recognized by Windows 10 and did not need additional drivers. It is providing speeds of 360 Mbps, which is the maximum allowed by the plan that I have with my internet provided.
