STARTECH.COM 20 FT DISPLAYPORT Cable with LATCHES - M/M

On the official StarTech.com page for this product (DISPLPORT20L), it states that this is only capable of DP 1.0 speeds, which would be 2K @ 30Hz, or 10.8Gbps bandwidth. When I saw this, I tried to cancel my order, but it was too late... so I decided to just try it and see. Well, I'm glad I did... maybe I just got lucky, but my cable is working with zero problems!I am currently using this for my gaming monitor, which is 2560x1440 @ 165Hz. The connection is very solid... the signal has not dropped out, even if I mess with the cable. It is a thick cable, but not unmanageable. I have it connected to a monolith-style SFF PC case, and it does not have trouble making the bend from the bottom, out the back.Very satisfied with this purchase! YMMV, since officially this cable is not officially rated for the bandwidth that I'm getting out of mine.

There is a lot of confusion regarding display port cables and what to select for your purpose. Prior to purchasing, I contacted Star Tech for clarification on a 15ft version of this cable and whether it would work at 1080p at 144hz for a gaming monitor and got this response - "The DISPLPORT15L 15ft DisplayPort cable is certainly compliant with DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2 specifications with bandwidth up to 21.6Gbps. I do not suspect there will be any issues with running the DISPLPORT15L with a 1920x1080 monitor at 144Hz. The bandwidth required will be well below the 21.6Gbps of which the cable is capable. There will be no flicker with a 1920x1080@144Hz display due to the DISPLPORT15L." After receiving the cable, I have found that the cable works flawlessly with no flicker or drop off while gaming at the highest settings. I am very satisfied with this cable for my purposes and if you are looking at similar specs, then I would suggest this cable over the other brands currently available, as this is the only one I could locate after several hours of scanning forums, that is capable of 21.6Gbps.

This is a good quality cable 100% I replaced the 6ft that came with my monitor for one of these 10'. it reaches my monitor perfectly and no issues with Gsync or HDR. Overall I recommend this cable over any non VESA cables

+ decent cable with good connectors & strain relief.- failed to work with EVGA GTX970 SC & LG GK650F-B 1440p @ 144hz ...wouldn't detect over 120hz, & dropped signal constantly. i've read Nvidia has a history of weak DP signal on several card line-ups over the years (& poor DP support in general), so this cable may work better with newer AMD cards....had to return, re-arrange my set-up, & go with a shorter one from KableDirekt (been flawless).

A cable is NOT just a cable. It's critical. It's the point at which your content is delivered to your screen. Quality matters and although cables LOOK the same, this is definitely an area where the "devil is in the details".I wanted a 4k experience from my PC to my new 4k computer monitor that had the maximum response rate. I'd just purchased two Nvidia 980ti video cards to put in SLI mode with my new high end 4K monitor. Together, that was a $2,100 purchase with the goal of getting the highest quality gaming and multimedia experience. The cable that the monitor came with was too short. I went to the local tech store and bought a 10' cable that was "supposed" to "support" 4K resolutions @ 60hz which cost $6. There were artifacts around images, games were "jittery" and even though it "claimed" it was DP1.2 certified it was ONLY PERFORMING 4K @ 30hz!!I did some research and saw that Startech was highly rated. On Amazon I found the 10' display cable at the DP1.2 spec for less than $12. Thanks to Prime, it was delivered the NEXT DAY (it was even a Sunday). Plugged it in and WHOA.. the immersive 4K experience I was hoping my $2,100 purchase would provide.. for only $6 dollars more.Don't go cheap on your cables. Buy quality Startech. It's not much more, a fraction of what you pay for quality equipment, and it's well worth it. Why would you look to go "cheap" on the very thing that connects your high end equipment? I'll never make that mistake again.

Got the computer built and tested using an old 1600x1200 Dell monitor I had sitting around while I was deciding which monitor to get.Once I got the PG348Q and the Startech cable set everything up and you can see by the video what I was experiencing. That video was with everything set at 3440 x 1440 & 100hz. At 60 hz, the flickering was not as bad, but still there. Already I'm thinking I should have just bought another Mac instead of dealing with all the hassle of a Windows machine. (Been using Macs since the arrival of Vista after building maybe 100 custom gaming/overclocked rigs between about '94 and '06.) I'm also now in a funk thinking I may have to return the monitor or the video card or ? As I'm googling thie issue, a couple of posts suggested switching the plugs around helped. Only when I did that, the monitor reported there was no DP cable connected.Finally, pulled out the cable that came with the monitor and had to move the computer so it would reach. Voila, no issue whatsoever. I've been playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider with all settings at a mixture of High and Ultra for 2 days now at 100 hz and not a flicker in sight.Anyone have an idea where I go for a 10'/3 meter cable? Need at least 7'.

lo uso para un monitor a 144hz, todo excelente sin problema, tener en cuenta la distancia ya que 1.8m podria ser mucha si tienes el monitor a un lado del gabinete

I'm using the 35 foot version of this display port cable to hook up to an ultrawide 21:9 monitor running at 2560x1080 75hz on an LG 34 inch (34UM67) Monitor. I've been using this cable since 2015, and it works perfectly. I keep my PC inside a closet to keep it nearly silent, its why I needed such a long extension cable.Eventually I may get a higher resolution ultrawide and at that point i'm not sure if this cable will still work. But on the other hand, I was thinking of maybe sticking with 2560x1080 but getting a higher refresh rate monitor of 120hz or more, but not actually sure if this cable could do that either.I've setup custom resolutions in Nvidia control panel up to 21:9 5120x2160 75hz and it runs, but i'm not sure how that works exactly. I'm not sure if all that 4k data is actually being sent to the monitor, or if the 4k is being downscaled on the PC before it is sent through the display port cable. So i can't be sure that it would actually be able to do a 4k ultrawide signal through the cable.Whenever I get a new monitor that has a higher refresh rate above 75 hz or a higher resolution above 2560x1080, I'll edit this and put in the results if it worked or not.**** EDIT [Oct 2019] ****Just wanted to update. I tested this 35 foot on a monitor that was 2560x1080 which ran at 160hz, and it did not work. I had to use a much shorter 15 foot cable to be able to achieve 160hz at 2560x1080.75hz@2560x1080 at 35 feet is pushing this cable... the other monitor i tested didn't like it and would only run at 60hz. So it likely depends on how picky the monitor is also.Also. Even at 60hz, I could not get G-Sync to work with this cable, so this is something that could happen depending on the monitor brand, but maybe the G-Sync didn't think the distance was good enough to allow it. Oddly though, I was able to get 75hz freesync working on my original monitor with it.

Works perfectly for all three of my monitors. Prompt delivery. What else is there to say?
