PimpernelClassic Burgundy Placemats, Set of 6, 30.5 x 23cm

I love the design of this product but if you think it will be durable and long lasting think again. I've bought this product for a holiday let on at least 4 occasions as I think it is the best I can find. However the coasters often look like someone has taken a knife to the surface. I could not understand it until I got some for myself and decided it must be the heat of the mugs that causes this.What can you do about it? You have to put your mug down somewhere and it's supposed to go on the mats as that is why you buy them!

I already had this set,which was showing signs of wear after some years of use so I reordered and now can accommodate both sets if I get a larger gathering. Like the elegance and style - not keen on patterned ones as they clash with my tablecloths.

I used the placemats ONCE and when wiping with a soft spontex sponge to clean a couple of pieces of the surface came away to leave 2 clearly visible marks on one of the placemats. Now one of this set of 6 is not useable. I can't find a way to contact the supplier and will not buy this item again. AVOID!

Getting a bit expensive for what they are, but still a good product, had a set for years and they still came up looking good after all that time very good heat resistance.

Look very smart, if a little "hotel'ish". As yet, untried for high temperature dishes and cleaning.
