Q: What is the best way to clean these lids before sprouting?

I just clean them with dish soap and a sink brush. I have had mine awhile and they are holding up really well. I love them.

Q: I have jars with mouth opening of 3 inches. Is there any way to make these lids fit? Thanks!

3" is the measurement of the inside edge of a wide mouth jar or it will measure just shy of 3". If that is what you are measuring you've got a standard wide mouth and it should work.

Q: When sprouting, do you keep the jar upright or upside down?

I have been starting the process (about 2 days after my initial soak of seeds) with the jar upside down, and then switch to tilting the jars on their side to allow enough air into the bulk of the partially sprouted seeds (the sprouts, at that time, tend to start blocking the air flow with sprouting through the lids when they are completely upside down)

Q: Some reviewers write they still need to tip these to drain. Anyone successfully draining using the leg & vertical drain?

I drain it initially standing on the legs but then I tip it back against the wall. You'll want to have airflow and if you leave it completely upside down, the sprouts will fall to the bottom and block the airflow.
