I agree with the others. It actually gives my hair more body.

It's waterproof. Doesn't come off until you wash it off.

Q: Does this last a long time . About how many applications are in it?

Yes it lasts a very long time for me, I use it to cover my grey roots on my part-line between hair appointments every 4 weeks (my grey roots grow quickly) I use about 6-7 days every month. I have had over a year. If you use on more areas than your part-line I would assume it will not last as long as mine.
