How does the "superhero" stick to the book?

The bookend, which is magnetic, actually goes inside the cover of the book. The superhero is a metallic cutout, in a sense, and its hands are also magnetic, so it "sticks" to the bookend through the book cover. Hope that helps!

could you combine this with one of the superhero bookends so that it looks like the superhero is holding up the books so the people can run to safety?

That sounds like a great idea. The book end is placed inside the book cover so it may work.

I ordered the superman holding the books sideways. But the picture on my notification shows superman under the books.

Can this hold the weight of a records?

Yes, BUT the records may slide off. The holder is metal and solid. The weight of the books is used to keep the thing from tipping over, and it works well as long as there is enough heavy things ob the span of the metal part on the table. That said, the books are leaning over, and I can imagine that records could slide off the back and flat onto the table, if enough are placed on it. In summary, I think the holder can hold the weight of enough records to keep the thing upright. However more than that and they are likely to slide off.

Bon produit, conforme à sa description... Néanmoins, selon la surface sur laquelle ce produit est posé, et le poids des 2-3 livres que vous pouvez mettre dessus, le produit a tendance à glisser...Parfait en décoration!

Pas de mauvaise surprise, et vraiment propre. Il est de bonne taille (il fait un peu petit par rapport au photos mais se n'est pas plus mal) et plutôt bien dessiné.
