I used this to connect to a Raspberry Pi compute module and get automated readings through the RS232 cable. It took a bit of thorough instruction reading, but if you do that (follow the instructions!) it will be straightforward to turn on the data streaming component, after which the RS232 to USB converter allowed me to get all the information I needed. A word of caution: Do not use a “standard” RS232 to USB converter. Instead purchase the “null modem” version (in which TX and RX are reversed, compared to the “standard” variant). Otherwise it will appear to be broken, when in fact, it is just that the cable is incorrect (I learned that the hard way). Otherwise, robust construction, easy to use, clear readings and, if you’re like me and wanting to create automated readings, you can easily get it to integrate with your chipboard of choice.

Recommended if you need a scale with USB connectivity. It's a little tough to first figure out but after getting it setup it works great!
