Q: Will this work with the multigroom 5000?

I’m not sure, I purchased the 7000 series and everything fit good. Not sure what the difference between the two are. I’m sorry but this is Not much help you were looking for. If the main trimmer is the same and just different attachments then I would think it would be fine. The 7000 fits snug so it the 5000 is larger it might not work.

If they are the same or very close, the MG7790 should fit. The slot for the trimmer is cut out of soft foam, so there is some wiggle room. All 18 of the attachments for my model have pre-cut slots, just pull out the cut piece and the attachment fits into the slot. The charger has its own pre-cut slot.

It fits exactly the number of pieces for the 7000 series. However the slot that housed the charger can house your extra trim pieces.

Q: Can this be used to keep the hair a bit longer, rather than close shave/stubble?

Absolutely. If you get the trimmer that this case was designed for Philips/Norelco MG7750 there are many adaptors, guards, for hair cutting, beard and eyebrows. I love mine. Great products!!
