Q: They are too hard to punch and take a lot of elbow grease to punch out. Is there any good way to do this?

I recently discovered a godsend ！！！！ It's super effortless and has saved my hard-to-press hole punch!

Q: Would a 5 yr old be able to use these independently?

No, my 12 yr old had issues until I bought him UCEC punch shapes helper that he can now use easily

Q: How big is the punch?? 5/8? 7/8? 1inch

The punch measures roughly 1 inch by 11/4 inches. The punched out shape measures 5/16 of an inch. These are NOT recommended,as they do not even punch thru cardstock paper, and half of the designs do not even punch through all the way.
