Q: How small a space does the mower fit for storage?

I never took precise measurements but I store it in my kitchen next to the washer where my dryer would be if I had one. You can fold over the handlebar so it doesn't take up much space at all.

Q: Where can I buy an extra battery?

I have the same question. I will contact Amazon and figure out if they can help with this. This battery quits after 10-15 minutes of mowing now. And I have used the lawn mower less than 10 times- on a small lawn. The mower was promising initially, but now, I just need 2 batteries. It’s not worth the hassle of trying to send it all back after a few moths of use. I will probably go through Lowe’s moving forward, for purchases such as lawn mowers. I should have known better than to buy it via Amazon.

When I ordered mine, I ordered an extra battery with it so I have 2. I would assume that you could order just a battery but I would check with the manufacturer if you don't see it listed.
