Quality includes what you need
As mentioned in my previous review of this product and its similar items from the same company I buy their collection it's cheap and I get all the S.A. E connectors the extension cables different fuse types that way when I install on my motorcycles I have everything I need and it's so cheap if you go to a motorcycle shop to have this installed you'll pay so much just fir the parts.

Powers my phone weirdly.
I bought this for an older bike, hooked it straight into my battery tender plug, and it worked right away. I decided I didn't want to run the block up to the handlebars and just used a USB cable to run it up there; it works flawlessly and doesn't run the battery down. For the price, it can't be beat. If it only lasts a few months, so be it.

Simple way to add a USB port to your bike
The DR650SE I ride is an old school motorcycle; among other characteristics, it's totally lacking in any "tech". I wanted a setup for my cellphone and the first thing I needed was power. This is a very simple USB setup; it supplies standard 5vdc USB power many electronic bike accessories use to operate ...and it can be used to charge a cellphone. The socket assembly is held to your handle bar using zip ties ...which aren't included. The extension line to the battery was plenty long enough to use on my DR and includes a 7.5 amp fuse. There's an SAE connector allowing you to disconnect the USB port when not in use (advised by the instructions) and allowing you to connect a battery charger/tender having SAE connections. The unit runs on 12 - 24v DC and provides the standard USB 5vdc output. Inside the socket module are all the electronics controlling output voltage and amperage. The module doesn't support "fast charging" ...which makes sense since it's NOT solely a phone charger but a source of 5vdc USB power.I haven't tested the water resistance capability of the socket module so I can't comment on how well it keeps out water. The socket has a snug-fitting cap to keep water and debris out of it when not in use; this, via the description, is the only time the plug module will be anything approaching water proof. If the USB port is in use, facing upwards and you end up in the rain ...water *will* get into the socket. There's nothing special about the USB socket itself that looks like it would keep out water. You might be able to to flip the socket upside down (so the USB port faces down) and this may improve chances the socket doesn't get water in it but ...no guarantee. The plug module is solid and appears to be sealed; the cord inlet on the bottom has a strain relief/seal.So far this USB module has worked well; I have not had any issues and it hasn't damaged my Android phone; it works fine as a phone charger. If you know you're going to be riding in wet weather, I would not recommend using the port; put the cover on the port or flip it upside down and hope.
