Zero Loss of Quality for me
Only thing is it’s hard to find objects when you’re super zoomed in - but yeah probably better to get this than an eyepiece that is too powerful for your aperture. Recommend , but take the time to get used to finding objects before showing it off. Fit - Percect. Magnification- Excellent. Brightness - Great. Value - definitely

New tricks on an old dog.
I have a 20 year old Celestron 114" Newtonian telescope that was in the attic for a number of years. The really basic eye pieces that it came with back in the day were terrible to start with. I had a ton of fun with them nonetheless. So when the Comet Lovejoy got all the craze, I decided to pull out my old telescope. I cleaned the mirror and looked up. The eye pieces were scratched and utterly useless. So I purchased both the 25mm and the 7mm X-Cel eye pieces and this X-Cel LX 3x barlow Lens. All I can say is holy smokes! It's like a whole new telescope. The clarity and field of view is amazing. The X-Cel LX series of optics is so well worth the price, I really can't say enough of how amazed I was with them.

Blown away
This is truly a quality piece of equipment. The first time I popped this little guy into my scope and looked at Saturn with something like 260x magnification, I was floored. The image was so crisp and beautiful that it really made me wonder where all the hate for Barlows comes from in the first place. If you are on the fence about getting a Barlow, look no further. For those wondering about the actual size of the piece, it is just about 6 centimeters long NOT COUNTING the end piece that rests inside of your focuser (or other Barlow if you are feeling particularly adventurous). The thicker part of the tube is about 4.5 centimeters in diameter. Despite the bulkier looks, it is actually surprisingly light. Does not come with any sort of case, just the box and the two endcaps.

Worth the price but I prefer the 2X
Works well and is well made. I think I prefer the 2X Barlow over the 3X because everything gets magnified, including any problems. Of course I knew that going in and bought it anyway. Generally, a good addition to my lens set.

I feel like I was robbed!
Opening) was suprised when I removed it , it was bigger than I imagined. (1st impressions) it appears first impressions was a factor when designing it . Looks good , feels nice . (Utilization) put it in , took a look and was satisfied but just barely. It was humid out so I figured the moist air diminished the quality of what I saw . Well tonight is super clear and went out to look up and thought to compare the stock 3×barlow. When I swapped for the new one I couldnt believe how the new barlow was that much better than the stock barlow. They are both 3×'s and I figured the knew it would look better but it appeared to be 2-3×'s higher magnification and exponentially higher clarity . Im not just satisfied im blown away as well , pisst off is also a good description for the simple fact that the stock barlow is an insult , so celestron if u read this throw that crap away and give a better barlow please

Great lens for astrophotography
Wanted to get closer to the planets and saw that the 3X barlow was on sale. I am so glad I bought it. My images are closer and the quality is great. A must have for planetary imaging...

Great quality !
I got it because I own a short refractor so I use this High Quality Barlow to minimize chromatic aberration and be able to take a good look at planets, and it was a good solution, so now I can have a decent view of Jupiter and Saturn. Can't wait to get some of the eyepieces of the series.

Very good quality 3-elements Barlow in affordable price. Witnessed impressive results when used with celestron zoom eyepiece 8mm to 24mm.

CA is a bit heavier than X-Cel LX 2x Barlow, but still can provide good details in the center of the view

Unglaubliches scharfes Bild.
