Q: Does this tool work on cats hair when wet?

Not completely wet, but damp would be OK, in my past experience with shedding tools. Just dry off fur with towel and then use the shedding tool.

Q: What if it stops working like it did when it was new?

There are no moving parts so I don't think it will wear out for a long time. And if it stops working like it was when it was new, then you have your cat's shedding under control. It's still working, you just have less cat hair to brush. I haven't gotten that far with mine.

Q: is this for Long or short cat hair?

My cat is short haired. It gets the undercoat. Fluffy stuff. So much comes off everyday that is is shocking. Don’t know if it would work for long haired cats.

Q: Does this cut the fur or just pull it out?

Everyone else who has answered this is incorrect. At least now, in June 2023. The inner radius of the teeth are sharpened and do indeed cut the fur. I wrapped a bit of elastic around one of the teeth and pulled gently, the tooth sliced right through it. That is a cutting blade, not a rake that pulls out loose hair.
