I didnt think i would need this honestly but i was wrong, being a self learner ive found it so helpful in making sure im applying what ive learnt correctly from the genki text book. Its honestly become a necessity in my studies with the genki text book. If you're serious about learning with the text book you should definitely consider buying this to ensure you are applying everything in the right way and so you are not left without closure after completing the activites from both the text book and the work book.

This is the answer book to all the Genki (2nd Edition) books (Genki 1 Textbook, Genki 2 Textbook, Genki 1 Workbook and Genki 2 Workbook) , I would recommend buying this not only for the convenience of just having the answers there, it also gives the listening exercise answers too (which is why I bought this). The book is all in Japanese, but as another reviewer mentioned, as long as you can read the page numbers (wrote as pg.37), its easy to follow. :)

Si algún fallo le podía poner a la serie de libros de Genki era justamente la ausencia de respuestas a los ejercicios tanto del libro de texto como el de ejercicios. Éste pequeño libro subsana ese defecto para toda la serie (Genki 1-2 y sus respectivos libros de ejercicios), pero de la 2da edición. El libro en cuestión está todo en japonés, pero no es nada para temer, pues ya en el índice (si aún no lees) puedes comparar el título de tu libro con los del índice... Y nada, son básicamente 5 items los del índice: los dos libros de texto, los dos de ejercicios y los audios de los libros de ejercicios; realmente no hay pérdida. Para quien esté siguiendo el método en una clase, quizás no hará falta. Pero para autodidactas es fundamental para seguir tu progreso y corregir errores.

I've used this book for studying Japanese auto-didactically and I find it very good.

For anyone self-studying it's an invaluable - takes me from no feedback to a good comparison point. Following along with this will not quite live up to feedback from a knowledgeable human - the answers in the key are extremely brief. Sometimes answers will have this/that as alternate possibilities, but mostly it gets directly to the point, providing -a- right answer. (Side note: for more open-ended questions where you make your own sentence, etc, they usually just give an example that would be correct.) Even though the Genki exercises usually nudge you toward very specific structures, Japanese leaves a lot of room for little variations in word choice, order, etc. Still, it is 100% good enough for what I want to get out of it - it's quick and helpful. I also didn't realize for a while before buying that this covers both G1 and G2 - so that's nice. You can go ahead and buy this, and be covered by the time you get to the next textbook/workbook. Of course, make sure you editions match up. And it's not really important, but it is nice that this answer key is very compact - it covers all the exercises, but is thinner than the Genki I workbook alone. Only about 80 pages. Side note: I'm mainly using this to go through the workbook, but I've also used it a bit for the text book. Even though I have the 1st edition of the text book, the answers in this 2nd edition answer key are still correct more often than not. Of the handful of text book exercises I tried, most only had a question or 2 that was different. And it depends on the exercise, but usually it's pretty obvious when there's been a change.
