Great Product at Great Previous Price.
This was a really great deal. I bought this 6-pack for $49.99. It’s great quality rendered beef tallow. Now I saw that it’s selling for $85. Not sure I’ll buy again at that price point.

Great texture and flavor
Love that it comes in glass jars. Nice quality and flavor. Color and texture is great. Well sealed with metal lid and melts and heats nicely when cooking. We keep a large tub of Wagyu tallow for deep frying (which has more of a whipped texture) however this beef tallow is more dense and we prefer it for shallow cooking.

Best beef tallow I’ve found!
I’ve tried other grassfed tallow but the Epic brand has a real beef flavor. I use it for seasoning my veggies and man oh man I use it instead of lard in buttermilk biscuits and my oh my it makes for the best homemade biscuits!

Busted jar. Good product
Good product. But Amazon didn't do a proper job protecting the glass jars. In turn, it had a busted jar and beef tallow all over everything else they shoved in the box with it. I didn't get a refund, however. So please just protect your glass jars better, Amazon

Look elsewhere
Im not sure about the odor it has because I haven't tried any other beef tallow before this one. I don't like the odor and it lingers in my house. The fish I fried came out ok, nice and crispy. No added flavor from the tallow, which is good. I would like to see more information in the description like expiration dates. The batch I received gave me under four months to use. The company did nothing and referred me back to Amazon which leads me to wonder if they try to dump older product here. Amazon refunded. Thanks, Amazon.

Excellent quality
Great quality at an excellent price. Being on a high-fat, carnivore diet, I go through a lot of beef tallow and ghee and quality/purity of what I consume matters a lot. Epic as a company has a good reputation.

Ditch the seed oils and switch to tallow!! Your body will thank you.
This is a great tasting beef tallow. SOOOOO much better to cook with (and healthier) than seed oils. This is what we should be using to cook with.

Very similar to ghee in flavor and texture; packaging leaves a lot to be desired
Packaging is an important factor to consider because if something is packaged poorly, there is risk that it won’t arrive intact, as was the case for this beef tallow. This consists of six 11 ounce glass jars of beef tallow, and they are packaged in a small box, each in its own little compartment. However, that box was placed inside a significantly larger box for shipping, and there wasn’t much material placed along with it to keep the box with the jars from bouncing around the inside of the larger box. Somewhere along the line, one of the jars crack in half, and it must have spent some time in a warm environment because the normally solid beef tallow had clearly become liquid at some point and leaked, causing the larger box to develop a large section that was saturated with the liquid beef tallow. This, in turn, led to the mail carrier declaring this box hazardous material, and thus undeliverable. I was, however, able to pick it up from the post office. Aside from the one broken jar, which had to be thrown out (and the remaining jars all thoroughly washed because tiny flecks of glass were found on every single one of them), the beef tallow in the remaining jars has met expectations. It’s a solid-at-room-temperature oil that can be used in place of other fats, and it has a high smoking point, so it’s suitable for applications that involve high heat. It does have a noticeable, though not super strong, beefy odor, and I wouldn’t say that the flavor is neutral, having a small bit of grassy/gamey flavor, so this is probably something that will work for some people but not for others and in some applications and not others (I would not spread this on bread like butter). What this reminds me of is ghee. The texture (kind of grainy) and flavor are both very similar to some jars of ghee that I’ve used (though this is white, and the ghee I’ve used has been light yellow). The texture is also similar to that of coconut oil, another solid-at-room-temperature oil. The jars say to refrigerate after opening and to stir before use.
