I bought this for my 87-year-old dad to stop him from asking my mum what the date and day was... every day. It's perfect, nice and big, like an iPad, time easy to read and every morning he can check what day it is. Easy to set up, looks neat and it's been a real help to them both.

A few years ago I bought one of these units, but it came flimsily packaged then and was damaged on one corner (it was only packaged in a bubble-wrap bag).However as I liked the unit's clear display and general design, and the reasonable price, decided to order another one for my new place, and this time it did come adequately packaged (in bubble wrap but inside good quality cardboard box) and arrived in perfect shape, despite reshipping (I order for delivery to a reshipment company which then reships to me in Europe; so there are two delivery events).These clocks have clear displays and the thermometer appears accurate when compared to two others in my home (one digital and one old-fashioned alcohol thermometer). Adjustment is easy. Has support for wall hanging (needs two nails or similar as there's two holes in the back), but am using it on the built-in stand on the table. Overall highly recommended!

If you want a large and easily readable digital clock with great battery life, full D/M/YYYY (i.e. non-American notation) and day-of-the-week and temperature display, this is completely perfect. If (like me) you are using it as a non-bedside clock in a bedroom and don't want any kind of annoying backlight, this fits the bill perfectly. Thermometer seems accurate when compared to others in the same location. I don't use the alarm feature at all (use my phone instead) but from testing the volume it is certainly far from weak, although it still doesn't remotely match the loudness of a proper mobile phone alarm, and none of these kind of products probably aim to anyway.Please note that this review relates specifically to the 'Black W/Silver' colour model only. Like many Amazon (and eBay) sellers, this seller unfortunately offers completely different models within the 'Colour' section, which can be very confusing and potentially misleading. Only the colour/model I have described has the full D/M/YYYY notation plus the day of the week. Be very careful when making your selections!
