Q: does it come with money?

Comes with coins,1s, 5s,10s, and 20s, but only 3 slots for bills. The only problem, it really looks real! I have multiple times thought there was money laying around the house. Finally got used to it and didn't notice when my 3 year old robbed my wallet and was actually playing with my cash!

Q: Constant message reads CB OPEN. What does this mean? Will not work. Just purchased.

It means the yellow coin bank lid is slightly open. Make sure it snaps closed. Its the yellow lid by scanner and under the coin slot.

Q: Can you use Melissa & Doug play money with this cash register?

We bought Melissa and Doug play money and it does fit in the register even though M&D $ is a bit longer than the bills it comes with they fit perfectly.
