What you need are the INSIDE of the LIDS and the OUTSIDE of the JUGS. The lids are 38mm INSIDE just as stated in the ad. Now measure your Jugs OUTSIDE and see if it matches/ Measuring the outside of the lid is like measuring the outside of a shoe - why do it? Your foot goes inside the shoe right? Q: What is the material lining the inside of the caps?

It looks like some sort of Styrofoam. It doesn't cover the whole cap only around where the edge of the bottle sits on the cap.
