Original r/c, after 22, years began to fail with a weaker and weaker signal making it more and more difficult getting it to turn a/c unit on/off. Label on the original R/C had worn off long ago so I had no model # to go by for a direct replacement. Instead of calling the installer I took a shot to see if I could find a replacement on Amazon and quickly found this one, hoping it'd work. Look and feel exactly match the original so that was good. Did not work right out of the package but a label glued on the back of the r/c explained how to try a simple procedure of trying different codes to get the r/c to match your unit. Very easy to do. My unit worked perfect with code on r/c set to 4. Took less than a minute. Process being similar to programming a cable company's universal tv r/c but actually easier. Was able to fix this problem for less than $20?? Fantastic!
